(Served in a snifter)
An American Brown Ale aged in Bourbon Barrels and Raspberries.
A- This beer has a jet black body with a thin head of light tan that fades to a wisp of a film. There is a random bubble or two that slides up the side of the glass but that is all that can be seen.
S- This beer has a smooth raspberry note with a big vanilla and dry wood note. There is a soft note of malt that comes through when the beer is pretty warm.
T- The smooth taste of bourbon and big wood come through with a light sweetness of dried tangerines that blends into a tartness of raspberries. The finish has a soft bourbon alcohol note that grows as the beer warms.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with no real alcohol heat until the last sip or two.
D- This beer has a very dry fruit flavor that increases as the beer warms and as it warms it gets a bit more sweetness that allows the fruit flavor to come through. The wood flavor gets softer as it warms and the citrus quality in the fruit overpowers it. This beer has a lot of complexity but it doesn't taste like all the flavors are working together.
