Just a really delicious, overall brew. I'm not a beer expert by any stretch of the imagination so I won't ramble on about things I do not know. However, I can speak on the fact that this is just a super drinkable, refreshing, high-quality beer that is definitely worth a pick up if you see it!

Polished pieces of eight with a lively sparkle due to steady streams of bubbles. The bone white crown was tight-bubbled and melted in fine fashion. Small dots of lace on the upper reaches of the glass turned into a thick band that followed the beer downward.

My notes regarding the nose start out with one simple word: Amazing! Each glorious inhale delivered fragrant clouds of tropical fruit and spices. The fruity cornucopia included mango, banana and orange (due to Simcoe hops and Belgian yeast). The spices included coriander (due to coriander) and clove from the Ardennes yeast. Warrior and Czech Saaz hops were used as well. My curiosity about whether the flavor could possibly live up to the aroma was satisfied with one sip.

Biere du Soleil is one of the finest offerings that wdmrock has ever brewed. It's definitely one of the top five and possibly one of the top three. The perfect combination of sweet, bitter and spicy... the kaleidoscopically complex flavor profile... the inspired choice of ingredients... it all added up to an incredibly impressive, dangerously drinkable whole.

The ABV means that Belgian pale ale is probably the correct choice. On the other hand, Belgian IPA is more accurate because of the full-bore nature of the hoppiness. American hops and Belgian yeast is a combination that should have been discovered years ago. In the right hands (wdmrock's) and the right brew (BdS), it's something to behold.

Pale malt sugars and cane sugar provided a sweet undercurrent that was a perfect foil for the bitterness of the hops and the zestiness of the spices. Specific flavors included sweet banana, juicy pear, zesty lemon and tangy orange peel. The Saaz hops provided lots of lemongrass as well. The yeast contributed clove and white pepper notes... and we can't forget the coriander, which is one of my favorite beer spices.

The mouthfeel was very close to getting the big score as well. It was medium in heft and was both creamy (perfect carbonation) and firm (plenty of alpha acids). The fine, sparkly bubbles were great because their energy was a fantastic match for the zippiness of the beer itself.

Biere du Soleil is a perfect name for this Belgian PA/IPA because it looks, smells and tastes sunshine warm and sunshine bright. No weaknesses and a ridiculous number of strengths equals masterful craft beer. End of story.

I was so happy at this keg tapping because the lady and I BOTH won free growlers with a free filling. Sweet! Anywho, on to the review.

The beer came in with almost a radiant orange glow to it. It is super cloudy but not in a sense that it has a lot of particulates floating around, it was just hazy, in a good way. The aroma had some fruit essence to it. The flavor had pleasant amounts of orange and lemon to it with a touch of wheat. Although, the body seemed a tad heavy and the aftertaste had a bit of a sting to it. I'd say it was a good beer to try.
