Review number 3000. Go figure. Drank alot of amazing beers over the years and for the last couple days really had not had anything as i kept thinking what could i have for my 3000th beer? nearly impossible for me to make the decision, taking the kids to charlotte for the day the decision was made for me. leaving the museum we run into pouring rain and honestly without looking just ran into rock bottom. looking up a big sign for the irish red looks at me and my decision is made.
the pour was a nice amber red color, lots of caramel tones to it and a nice and well balanced head of off white that seemed to stop around a quarter inch from the top of the glass. light lacing rings the outside as it settles down.
aroma is light, caramel and earthy hops. nice malty profile and smooth feel on here. nice really light and not heavy, it has a well put together balance that really seems to increase its drinkability.
overall while not a stunning, stellar beer it did its job and while others might go for a super rare whale to mark a milestone, this is much more indicative of how craft beer works. a solid beer that was there at a time when one was needed. cheers to 4000!

On tap at Lombard IL location.
Color was deep red, nice white head which laced nicely.
Smell wasn't that impressive but sweet and malty.
Taste wasn't bad, but not great either. Sweet. Slightly bitter on the end. Not much there, easy to drink.
Overall an alright beer, nothing to write home about. I'd try more from Rock Bottom, but I won't go for the Irish Red again.
