Served in a 750 ML bottle one of the 100 (I think it was #62 to be exact) bottle conditioned bottles of this release. Oh man was this a beauty of a beer.
Drank out of a tulip glass.
Head was there thick and beautiful, fades fast.
The wine barrel aging was very apparent to the nose up front. Plenty of fruit, caramel and strong toffee notes.
The taste upon hitting your taste buds explodes with wonderful toffee and fruit with a bit of caramel. Just slightly sweet, the hops are apparent but just barely, enough to balance it out nicely.
This beer went down so smooth even though I split the bottle with a friend I hardly noticed when it was empty and then was left with remorse as there was no more there. My buddy got rocked with a cold this week and was semi-stuffed up and was able to pick up on many of the nuances I talked about still they are so apparent.
I'd recommend this again and will be going back tomorrow to see if they still have a bottle to pickup.

On tap at Rock Bottom Minneapolis
This is a wine-barrel aged dubbel. It is part of their Belgian Trifecta Series.
Served in a 10 oz flute/snifter. Served with a light layer of beige head. Color is a hazed copper amber.
Aroma: Tons of wine barrel flavor and honey. Malty as well. Caramel and toffee. Grapes and dark fruits. A very awesome aroma.
Taste: Honey and wine. Reminds me a lot of Jesus Juice. Orange peel, caramel, and toffee. Oak and grapes. Very complex.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and sweet. Medium bodied with a lower amount of carbonation. Ends a bit dry.
Overall, a very solid beer. I was very surprised by this one. I need to check out Rock Bottom more often if they are going to have beers like this around. It was very enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
