I really like this beer. I'm a fan of our great Pennsylvania pils and this one could be in that mix. Probably the most well balanced of any German style pils I've had. Has more nutty malt reminicent of a Czech pils. Bright perfume of noble hops on the nose. Finish is bitter and quite dry. Very nice job.

On tap @ the King of Prussia Rock Bottom (King of Prussia, PA) on 8/30/12. Served in a pint glass. I unfortunately didn’t jot the ABV of this down.

Pours a crystal clear gold, topped with a finger of creamy bright-white head. This maintains a smooth ½ finger or so of froth, leaving back a foamy cascade of spotty lacing down the sides of the glass. The aroma has a gentle freshness to it in the nose, with notes of grass, spice, and light must, with citrus and a soft doughiness that combine to give this a sweet earthy twang across the back.

The taste is tight citrus crispness and a firm, lightly toasted malt background. The freshness of the citrus really has a nice pop to it here, while this finishes lightly spicy and leafy on the backend. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a firm, crisp and clean feel throughout on the palate. This is quite refreshing.

I’m not quite sure what the deal was with this was, if this Pils was actually passed throughout a hopback or not but I will say that the hops here did stick out a bit more than you would expect for the style. I for one didn’t mind at all, as that robust citrus added an extra layer of crispness to this.
