Bottle picked up at Brewforia Meridian tonight on the way home from work for a pricey $9ish... Poured into my HotD goblet... okay tannish head shows decent retention but good lacing... the brew is polished copper..

Nose has a bit of a heavy spice hand... predominantly nutmeg and warm cinnamon... a fairly big maltiness helps add balance to the spices... nicely done.

Cinnamon shows more on the palate... a good blend of toasty malt and light caramel helps keep the spice in check.. getting some clove that I missed in the aroma.. nutmeg is still there, but only if I concentrate...

Body is sorta thick and has a light carbonation, but still seems appropriate with this brew... personally, I could use a little more bubble but I be most folks will appreciate the lesser carbonation in this respect.

I normally don't like spiced beers too much, but this one is done judiciously and never becomes out of whack. This one is growing on me with warmth.. A golf clap to the fine folks at Laht Neppur.... I really need to make it back up there this summer.

I've never reviewed a beer before, so I don't really know how to do this. But it was so good I had to sign up for an account. Tastes like French Toast (but not in a sweet, sugary way)! And it'll get you drunk.

The description from the beer festival is: "Strong Holiday Ale spices with Cinnamon, Cloves, All Spice, Sweet Orange Peel and Honey."

Mason Jar carried back from Waitburg by neighborhood beer buddy, consumed 1.6.10, poured into Barley Brown pint glasses.

One finger light tan/off white head, pretty quick dissipation with slightly above average lacing retained. Amber brown body, a wee bit of carbonation rising. WTF, a truly strange smelling beer, huge hit of nutmeg and cloves, a small bit of cinnamon, caramel malts in the middle and a floral hop presence. Taste mirrors the nose, if even more so on the spice profile, I felt like they took a microplane and grated fresh nutmeg on the top of this while I was chewing on a clove, cinnamon barely noticeable in the taste, sweetish in the middle, and faint hop taste. Mouthfeel is really chewy, a bit sticky once it warmed. To be honest not the most drinkable of beers. Strange brew indeed, but a honest interpretation for a spiced winter warmer, maybe a bit too much though.
