Draft pours a hazy golden body with a small white head with good retention. Yeasty and candy aromas are par for the style as is the taste. Fresh Belgian yeastiness dominate the front palate before sweetness hits the mid palate. Finishes on an intriguingly tart/sour note of young blood oranges. I'm glad to have stepped into Gordon Biersch while this was still available.

On tap at GB - Navy Yard. Pretty good adaptation of the style, smooth, slick and buttery. Appearance a bit lacking as the head was kind of weak. Buttery, herbal and the right amount of yeast put this in the ballpark.

I had this at dinner last Monday night for $5.25 for a goblet.

Beer was served golden with a nice head initially.

Nose was very malty and was not catching the esters you typically get from the Belgian yeast strain.

Taste was malt forward with some hints of light fruit.

Feel was light to medium bodied and fairly smooth.

Overall not a bad beer but nothing special.

I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the Gordon Biersch in Seattle. It was at their Tripel tapping party.

Appearance: cloudy golden hue with a thin layer of white foam. Not bad.

Smell: sweet with a nice pear character. Not complex, but nice.

Taste: sweet malt with more of that pear character from the aroma. Like the aroma, too, it's a bit one-note; still, it's rather tasty.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: I love tripels, and this is quite a decent one. Yum!
