Served on tap at the Columbus, OH location. Appears an amber color with darker reddish hues. Has a decent off-white head, nothing overly impressive here.
Smells very sweet and malty. Bready, caramel and fruity are the best ways to describe the smells. Not really any hops in the nose, definitely just a sweet smelling brew. The taste corresponds to the nose very well - lots of malt. Caramel, and fruit are both present. The end of each sip is slightly bitter.
Mouthfeel is definitely light with an average amount of carbonation. Overall, not an impressive brew, just fairly average. A decent summer beer, and it went well with my meal, but didn't make me want to go back for more.

Tap at GB @SFO. Very caramel, more doppelbock than heller bock. Sweet, molasses, toffee. Not much of a head, slightly sticky body. Not what I was expecting.

Decent Maibock. Served on tap at the DC location by Nats Park. Caramel colored liquid. Toasted bread aroma, with floral hop notes. Flavor is biscuit and toasted white bread, light herbal and tea notes. Thinner feel.

Color was a clear dark golden straw color approaching amber, served with a good two fingers of solid egg-shell colored head with a good amount of retention and lacing. Faintly nutty clean malt aroma. Mildly sweet malty forward with a grainy toast and caramel flavor to it. Light bodied and clean with a faintly slick mouthfeel to it as well as faint hints of oxidization. Finish is crisp and mildly hoppy with a faintly peppery noble hop bite to it and a fairly active carbonation to it.

Had a couple of pints before the Roger Waters show at the Glendale Westgate restaurant last Wednesday for $4.00.
Beer was served caramel with a nice white head.
Nose was hints of toasted malts and not much else.
Taste was a nice sweet caramel malt base balanced nicely by the Noble hops.
Mouthfeel was medium bodied and smooth.
Overall a pretty good representation of the style.

Lovely caramel color with crystal malts all over the nose and flavor with a perfect hop balance. Say what you will about GB but they have mastered a few lagers including this one. Possibly the best maibock I've ever had. The winterbock is even better.

Mild copper colors and gold, 1/2" white head. Aroma was muted.
Some mild sweetness, hoppiness held in check appropriate to style, light body, tons of carbonation. Mild breadiness. The caramel intrusions aren't the sweet or heavy kind. Its not heavy malt, but its malt forward. The yeast flavors are muddled, some citrus, bread, alcohol.
