Appearance This poured a nice, light yellow with a pretty good head.
Smell This had a lovely, light grain aroma with nice, sweetish notes at the end. I never thought Id say the words lovely and grain together in a beer rating, but there it is.
Taste This is the micro for the macro (drinkers). Theres nothing bad or offensive here. Theres an interesting kind of whiney character to this beer. Its quite interesting.
Mouthfeel Light-bodied with some teasingly delicate carbonation. This lager was well-balanced with a dry finish.
Drinkability This went down quite well.

Served on-tap in a 21 oz. Willi at the Navy Yard-DC location.
A: Brilliant straw gold with healthy 1-finger eggshell foamy head with sparse lacing.
S: light subdued aroma with cereal grain and light floral hop note, no fruitiness or off-aromas
T: excellent flavor although I think this drops somewhere between helles and Dortmunder given the lighter body and strength. Delicious bready and grainy malty flavor with deft touch of lightly spicy and floral hopping with a touch of herbal greasiness. No yeast flavors. Light bitterness.
M: highly drinkable as well-made German lagers should be with light-medium body, medium-high carbonation and dry finish.
O: this type of well-made highly consumable lager needs a continued resurgence among craft brewers - highly enjoyable classic brew without needing a gimmick (see fried chicken or various donuts and cakes) or a flavor sledgehammer to be noticed. Maybe this pub location does an especially good job of brewing the beer - I enjoyed it a lot and would buy it again.

Picked up a growler from the Glendale, AZ brewpub on July 30th. Shared with my brother while enjoying a warm 102 degree day on my patio.
Beer poured golden with a decent white head with the initial pour.
Nose was sweet grainy malts, not bad.
Taste was crackers and bread with a decent pepper hop to balance things out nicely.
Mouthfeel was smooth yet refreshing.
Overall a solid representation of the style, which is not exciting but flavorful and refreshing.

A: golden like the name, decent head but large carbonation bubbles
S: lager yeast, bready malt, earthy hop aroma
T: crisp biscuit and more lager yeast up front, nice earth and slight noble hop bitterness.
M: thicker and oilier than an adjunct, it holds flavor for quite a while. Large carbonation is apparent but not distracting.
O: very drinkable and balanced lager; good for the style and great for the price.

I had this beer on-tap in a half-liter pint glass at the Seattle brewery.
Appearance: crystal clear golden body with a light effervescence and a finger of frothy white foam atop. Not bad at all.
Smell: lightly sweet malt aroma; not overly complex, but enticing.
Taste: sweet malt with a light graininess and an overall very smooth flavor. I like it.
Mouthfeel: medium light body with a good carbonation and a surprisingly satisfying creaminess.
Overall: a very refreshing and quaffable lager. I dig it.
