Bottle: Poured a clear blonde color ale with a nice huge pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice clean cereal notes with light subtle flora notes. Taste is also dominated by very nice crisp and clean cereal notes with light dry hoppy notes and limited residual sugar notes or butter notes that can be easily found in the style. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. This beer is clean and easily drinkable and a great example of the style.

Sampled at VT Brewfest. Think it was on-tap.
A-Pours a dark gold.
S-Sweet and malty. Bread and sweetness. Tangy. Mostly just sweet.
T-Fruity, estery yeast. Bread crust malt that is a bit tangy. Perfumey sweet. A bit of grass.
M-Medium bodied, medium carbonation. No bitterness.
O-Very hard to remember this beer after a long day of sampling. A victim of blandness.

Picked up at the brewery by freud, thanks! Hazy golden body, good topping of white head. Decent lacing. Retention could be improved.
Lots of German noble hops, grain, slightly-sweet malt and minerals on the nose. Simple and fresh.
This is a well-hopped lager. Good, clean grain character, a little toasty, herbal and earthy hops, a touch of honey-like sweetness. Well-balanced, clean and fresh taste.
Good medium-light body, moderate carbonation. Appropriate feel.
Very drinkable. A flavourful, all-around well-put together lager; there aren't enough lagers around like this one. This is the kind of beer I could drink all night.

A: The beer is slightly hazy dark yellow in color and poured with a finger high white head that eventually faded away leaving only a ring of bubbles on the surface around the edge of the glass.
S: There are aromas of fruity yeast and floral and grassy hops in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and is fruity with flavors of bready, biscuit and grainy malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer has an interesting mix of flavors and I would definitely consider trying this again if I could find it.

Hopfenstark! I know this is a good brewery but have yet to really be wowed.
Poured into SA perfect glass.
A- Lots of yeast in the bottom of bottle. Slightly hazy gold. Big bubbly white head. Lots of lacing sticking to the glass like a bubbly film. Quite a nice looking beer.
S- Very nice fruity grain with just an accent of noble hops. Very clean, fresh and spring-like. Warming brings a some less appealing sour apple and white vinegar.
T- Taste isn't as clean but still good. Fruitiness is terrific. A bit like fresh berries. Bitterness and hop taste tastes pretty noble and grassy.
M- Medium body. Very high, prickly carbonation. Foamsup beautifully in mouth. Super dry. Super clean.
O- Seems like a stellar beer. From my experience with the style (not much) I think this is right on point.
Wow, this is really good. Wasn't really expecting that. So I guess I'm starting to understand what all the Hopfenstark fuss is about.

OK, it's a helles bock. The board at the Gingerman only read "helles" and let me tell you, this tastes nothing like a helles lager. Still, it's not your average maibock either. It was defined by an earthy peach flavor that was so strong I wondered if I was drinking a fruit beer. There were more classic malt and mild hop notes around the edges, but you'd call it a more interesting take on the style.

Official beer of the 17th Mondial, sampled on the Saturday.
Wonderful bright gold appearance with bubbles clinging to the side of the glass. A creamy white head drops to a film with mucho lace. Smooth creamy cereal nose with lemon and fruity esters. Really pleasing cream of cereal flavour is fruity and full. Light hop bitterness and great session potential. Crisp yet soft mouthfeel makes this go down really smoothly.
Nice one Fred!

Bière du Mondial, 17e édition.on-tap. Cloudy yellow with three-eights of an inch of white head, lace lines down the cup. Above average mouthfeel. Very different version of this style, using Yale Yeast. Fresh aroma, yet musty. The yeast enlivens this version of the style. Very drinkable, and gone after the first day!
