We (Eva and I) swung by this store because we were in the area.
I was not expecting much being in Federal Way and being accustomed to Bottleworks located close to my home.
I was surprised by the great selection and presentation. I could not help myself grabbing bottle after bottle and stacking them at the check out counter. There were some nice surprises that we ended up buying. I finally walked out of there with a 132$ deduction from my credit card.
The place is set up very nicely with coolers to the left as you walk in and the special stuff in the back of the room on shelves.
That is where I did most my shopping.
If I lived in this area, I would be a regular.

Even though I lived in the south sound area for about a year I was blessed to live so close to such an exceptional beer store.
Their selection is just absolutely awesome, they have almost everything you want and if you don't find it ask Craig or Tiffany and I'm sure they will find it for you. They also get a lot of the good rare stuff.
Price is reasonable if not fair, my only qualm is the fact I always overspend when I'm there!
Service/appearance is what really sets 99 apart from other beer stores and believe me, I've my share of beer stores. It is a very well upkept store with nice wood floors and lights dimmed enough that it isn't like walking into wal-mart but not so dark that you feel like you're in a cave. The beer itself is all stocked very nicely in a wall to wall cooler on one side and another wall of non-cooled beer in the far back (out of sunlight).
Another positive thing- they update their facebook feed religiously so if you follow them you will know exactly what they get in, especially with rare beers. This is how I got the bal aged yeti.
In all, Craig and Tiffany have created what I'd call quite possibility the best beer store and they are wonderful owners who will not hesitate to provide help if you ask.

This place has almost everything available in Washington state, including some rarities and plenty of seasonals. I go here at least once a week to see what's new and it always takes me awhile to look over everything and decide what to buy. The only problem is that I always end up spending more than I planned due to the wonderful selection... The staff are helpful, if not a bit cold at times. I love that they do mix-n-match 6 packs, I love to try new things so buying singles is always a plus. They have occasional tastings though I have never been to one.

I visited 99 bottles for the first time today and was blown away. The place is clean and well-organized with an excellent selection and with exceptional service.
The bulk of the beers are stored in refrigerator cases, though many are stored just on the shelves; these tend to be the styles which aren't harmed by a little room-temperature storage. Each beer had a small shelf label which indicated the beer's name, country/state of origin, style, and a few ancillary notes, as well as the price.
The woman working the store today was very knowledgeable and made some recommendations based on the kinds of things I was looking for. In addition, when I checked out, she offered me a free glass from their selection of brewery glasses (I went with the Kasteel goblet). Now *that* is service.

Really an exceptional place -- we happened in there on a day when the master brewer from Rochefort was there, so we had a one dollar tasting that covered Rochefort 6, 8, and 10.
Everyone was friendly, and seemed very knowledgeable. Selection was quite genuinely exceptional. I saw several beers there that I have never seen anywhere else. Prices there are typically a little higher than other places, which is pretty typical for a specialty shop, but they can get away with it because they have such a difficult to beat selection.
It's a long way out of my way, so I won't be going back often, but I'll probably be back at some point.

99 Bottles is great. An attractive and clean store with knowledgeable and friendly staff and a great selection. If anything amazing and limited comes into the area, they WILL have it.
Prices are fair and they take great pride in selling you the best beer and keeping it in the best possible condition until it gets to you. Craig and Tiffany won't steer you wrong.
Be sure to follow them on Twitter (@99bottlesbeer) and on facebook to see in real time what they have going on and what may have just walked in the door and limited to only a few bottles available! If you say something like "sourpuss" at JUST the right time, you might just find yourself with some 08 Dissident!
If you are in the area and have never been here, stop by. It's only a few miles off of I-5.
Craig is AWESOME. Very outgoing, totally friendly. If you see him, be sure to flag him down and ask him some off the wall questions and I'm sure he'll be able to help you out just fine!
Love this place, so much in fact, that tonight I literally fought a blizzard that shut down the entire greater Seattle area to get up there and back. What takes 30 minutes, took nearly two hours. Seriously.
Thanks, 99 Bottles! Best bottle shop in Western Washington!

99 Bottles is an outstanding craft beer store. The location is a bit surprising in a very commercial shopping area where everything is a franchise. But this beer-only establishment is anything but corporate.
The selection is extensive and extremely well displayed. It's neat, organized and well presented. Every beer has a tag with some basic info including a description, price and abv. And more than half is refrigerated. I picked up a RR Temptation to haul back to NC. Unfortunately they were out of Pliny.
99 Bottles is a fantastic store and well worth a trip from just about anywhere.

99 Bottles is cleanest, best organized, and upscale beer store I have visited. Single bottle pricing makes trying new beers more affordable. Very large selection. Over 1000 different beers? I don't know, and I wasn't about to try to count. Seems the imports and Belgians in particular were better represented. I was hoping to find a good selection of Midwest and East Coast beers, IPAs in particular, but was disappointed. This is probably not the store's fault as much as it is a craft brew distribution limitation. Some beers readily available at good grocery stores were priced higher, which doesn't make sense to me.
A beautiful store. I suspect they have high overhead and I hope they make a successful go of it.

I live on the opposite side of the sound...the one WITHOUT all the nice beer places...so if I ever go to Tacoma or past Tacoma I make a point to stop here to expand my beer memories. Great selection of beers with half domestic, half imports, nice moderate selection of glassware. The staff help is hit and miss. They are always friendly, but some are more useful then others, some are beer experts..and some work in a beer store. I put prices at $$$ because I never seem to be able to spend less then $40 for 6-10 beers...but that is most likely my fault!

I was not sure I had time to stop at this beer store on my trip from Seattle to Portland. I am quite excited that I made the decision to get off the highway. This is a fantastic beer store and among top store's I've ever visited.
First it starts with the selection.. The entire left wall of the store is a cooler with rows and rows of single bottles of beer. (Note the name) All of it stored at refrigerated temperatures. There were also displays of specialty beers and imports.. Additionally, they had a very nice glassware selection.
I was interested specifically in options from the Northwest that I could take back east with me. Boy the decisions were very difficult. So difficult that I had to make another detour to the UPS store to send myself a package... (Does this qualify as a Trade with myself?)
But in reality, there was something even better about this store. It was both Craig & Tiffany. (The owners) These were great folks and could not have been more friendly and attentive. A special thanks to Craig for that last bottle you found for me!! Just an hour before I had visited Bottleworks in Seattle and the difference in the level of service was really unreal. If I could have pulled up a stool and opened one of the beers, I would have stayed for the day. When I visit Seattle this will be a mandatory stop.
The atmosphere was fantastic and it was clear that Craig's passion and vision is to cater to total beer geeks like myself.
Kudos to Craig and Tiffany for creating this beer wonderland.
