Been a couple of times, but had some great times when Saint Arnold's released a keg of Divine Reserve #5 and the only cask of 2007 Oktoberfest! The service is quite good, friendly, and the beer selection for this part of town really is super! (hell, they still had divine #4 bottles!) ..
The food is also very tasty, some of the best chicken tenders ever, and the pizza's are thick, full, and delicious!!
It is best to go in the down times so you can just chill, it can get full at peak times..
..they also have dart boards which is nice for a dart shark like me ( calling all challengers! ..you beat me, I'll buy you a pint!)
Great stop if you are in the area, but don't drive more than 17-23 minutes to get here..

Easily one of the best places to have a craft beer in the Clear Lake/Webster/Seabrook area.
It seems like recently they have stepped up their game with what they have on tap. I think the addition of Nobi Public House to the area has pushed them a bit.
All of my friends really like this place. They have some food theme nights which are very popular.. the crab leg night is always packed.
I've seen Saint Arnold, Stone, DFH, Deschutes and many others on tap here. I was able to get Deschutes Black Butte XXIV on tap here a couple of times before the new year... nice!
They also had Saint Arnold BB1 when it was released...
If you end up at Boondoggles, I believe you will have a good time. I always do.

This is a favorite among not only my fellow beer head coworkers but others that like to tag along for food.
A - It is hidden, so unless you have been there before you probably drive by it all the time. It is a open patio style on the outside and a English pub on the inside with its own wall of taps, hanging tankards, fireplace and wall of dart boards
Q - I continue to go back because if they feel your food or your beer is not right, they will take the time to fix it and make it perfect just for you.
S - The service at the tables and the bar is amazing. They don't have a high staff count but the staff is willing to make sure you are happy at all times
S - It has about 40 beers on tap with craft beers constantly rotating and about 50 in bottles ranging from domestics to imports to crafts to special release local crafts
F - Everything from full on dinners to pizzas to burgers and sandwiches to even fish 'n chips, it is some of the best around. Everything is amazing and the pizzas are even brick oven style.
V - Even if money is sometimes low I always find myself going back at least once a week to enjoy this place

It has been a while since I was last here. Several years I think. It is good to see that nothing has changed. The location is almost right on the water. There is a large brick patio with a small bar as you walk up. Inside is all wood with a fireplace. The dinning area has high ceilings with some tables scattered about. Some dart boards as well. The wood bar runs along the back. Just a handful of TV's and low music playing. A very chill place when I stopped in for an early lunch. Though I have been here at peak hours, and it still never gets to over crowded.
Service is attentive and friendly. The bar is well maintained, and the kitchen is prompt. I wish the quality was a bit better. Some old taps and soapy taps are not uncommon. The food is good. Pizzas are big here, but that is not the only thing on the menu. Some killer appetizers like bruschetta and ceviche along with the more typical pub grub.
On to the beer. Plenty of taps. I did not count be upwards of about 25. Locals like Saint Arnold and Real Ale with plenty of New Belgium. Deschutes, Stone, Anchor, Lagunitas, and DFH are represented. A handful of BMC, but plenty to chose from.
I always enjoy Boondoggles. A great atmosphere, good beers and food. Very unpretentious. What a good pub should be, and there is not much else as far as selection in the area. While there are certainly bars around Houston with much better selections, it is hard to ask much more out of a local pub.

Visiting relatives in Houston, we ended up here on a sunny warm Wednesday afternoon in October. There were maybe 10 other people in the place, but I bet it can get pretty lively.
Single large room with partitions. Dark wood and brick. High ceiling with ceiling fans. Large fireplace, big L-shaped bar. Lots of TVs, several dartboards. It has the look of a fun place to be.
There were 40 or so beers on tap, and at least 60 bottles. Despite the numbers, not that exciting a beer list. They didn't have St Arnold Oktoberfest, but did have Shiner Oktoberfest. I had that (fair), and the bartender thought I would like an Abita Turbodog (which I did).
Food is average pub food. Pizzas were pretty good, and the fried pickles were very interesting.
Service was quite good.
A place to go to hang out with people and have a good time, not to drink really fine beer.

Boondoggles is a cool little place located right between Clear Lake and Taylor Lake, actually on the water and accessible by boat (plus in this area). They have a good selection of beers, nice Texas craft selection and some good other region crafts. Nothing too crazy but a fun place to go. Can get a bit busy and cramped during happy hour or during events. Saint Arnolds holds a couple events there (Oktoberfest cask and Divine Reserve kegs...). Much better than your typical for the area selections of Shiner Bock, Blue Moon or BMC drafts. Food is good. Never had anything amazing but never had anything below average. Check it out.
