Tommyknocker Brewery Butt Head Bock Lager (2013) - 8.2% ABV. Thick head, nice lacing. Beautiful caramel cream color. Strong fruity aroma. Underlying hop aroma as well. Some sugar scents too. Thick caramel and toffee nose. Big malty flavor. Bread and sweet sugar mid palate. Almost like some sort of strange fruity Danish. Nice roasted barley as well in the mid-palate. Finishes with a little hop by. Some fruit. Little bit of lemon grass. Just a hint of pine. Nice warming at that point from the alcohol. Full mouth feel. Maple syrup like. Crisp aftertaste. Good lager flavors. Those lager flavors dissipate to a nice roasted barley flavor. The malt notes return at this point and then fade into nothing. Very well-balanced. Very complex taste note. Full flavored. Like a roller coaster. Lots of ups and downs in the taste sensation. All of which are enjoyable and deservingly are there at the right points.
Nothing overpowers any other taste or scent note. Again very well balanced. Low alcohol taste is deceiving. All in an excellent example of the Bock style of Lager beers. A very good homage to this traditionally German Winter brew. Glad I had the air conditioning on. Lent itself to a nice crisp day albeit artificial in creation. 4.5 out of 5. Excellent. highly recommended.

This beer was better than I thought that it would be. I really liked the heavy taste that it uad. I wish that this beer was still at the bar that I go to. I wish that it was still around. If it was still around I know that I would buy myself a case or two.

Perfect amber brown in color with almost no head and a thin white collar. Aroma is caramel malt and toasted nuts. Taste is a good crisp caramel maltiness, toffee, and nuttiness again. Light body and low to medium carbonation. Pretty good, but not what I think of in a doppelbock.
