A blend of hot and mild Anaheim chiles infused in a refreshing light lager. A pleasant spicy bite makes for a delicious palette pleaser.

I was frankly disappointed. Having had an experience with an exceptionally excellent green chili beer (Bonds Brewing Hatch Green Chili Ale), this was"meh." There was no heat whatsoever and beside the point I disagree with those who say they can taste the green chilies AT ALL! Nice lager but not what I was expecting or looking for.

L:. Pours a brilliant yellow orange with a small white head and no lacing on the glass.

S:. Strong green Chile up front, don't smell a lot of heat, but also smell some of the base lager underneath.

T:. Crackery malt, a touch of cereal malt, green Chile in the taste and a light heat in the back of the throat.

F:. Light body and crisp carb.

O:. This is a very enjoyable green Chile beer.

Got this beer from coworkers as part of a birthday present.

A&S: Tiny specks of unfiltered particles are suspended in this beer, otherwise it is a transparent yellow with golden accents. Lively beer with carbonation consistently rising up. The head pours a half finger of white fizzy head, this subsides to a ring around the edge of the glass after a few minutes. The aroma initially, is very pungent with green chili and jalapeno spice, however in a few minutes of being poured this shifts to being less visceral. Other flavors include classic lager tones of biscuit and cereal.

T&M: Similar to the aroma, the spice fades as the beer sits. The first sip had a kick, afterwards, it is more subtle. Alcohol tones are pretty much what you would expect from 5.3%. Classic larger crisp and clean feel. Taste doesn't hang around too long on the tongue.

Overall: This beer is a fun twist on a lager. Not anything to write home about, but better than I expected.

I enjoy chile and beer, and I have had very good chile beers. This is definitely not one of them. I tried it because it is one of the only new chili beers I've seen in a while and as soon as I tasted it I was greeted with a memory that I had worked hard to forget. I knew the logo looked familiar but as soon as i tasted it I remembered the disgusting bomber of Tommyknocker brown ale that I made the mistake of purchasing years ago. The cloying sweetness and too-heavy body of this gross beer brought me right back and I instantaneously remembered the beer that I swore I would never touch again. Tommyknocker is now cemented into my memory as the worst brewery in the United States. Goddamn.

This iteration smells like bad adjunct lager with a little bit of an Anaheim chile smell as is advertised. The flavor is heavily malty with more complex sugars than you could ever conceive possible in a single beer which makes the flavor sickly sweet and the body disgustingly viscous. These qualities make the "chile" flavor a gimmick at best as it is not only very lightly perceivable, but there is also no heat, leaving an already undrinkable beer with a disappointing extra flavor that doesn't fit well with the initial profile of nasty thick trash water. This beer is a success at being better than Hurricane but somehow worse than Steel Reserve. A truly remarkable feat, keep up the evil work, Tommyknocker.

Can, best by May 11th 2019.

Pours a straw gold, decent head of foam, umm...I see black floaties. What's up with that??

Smells like an AAL, grainy, corny, only the slightest bit of a hint of any heat.

Taste is watery, lightest of light hints of chile. Mishandled can? Maybe.

Light and watery mouthfeel.

I can't believe how bad this is.

I do like the can artwork & there is a best by date on the bottom of it. The pour is a golden light bronze color, it is well carbonated. On the aroma I get some malts & some chile pepper as well. I'm picking up some vegetal cracker like a vegetal flavored triscuit, some grains, some salt & definitely the chile pepper is there as well matter of fact the chile pepper is there from the beginning to the finish it's the main attraction of this beer but it's not too overwhelming to the point where this beer would be undrinkable. Moreover, this is both a tasty & spicy lager that tastes extra special around the spring/summer season. I would recommend that you go out & try this beer out for yourself it will add some spice to your life. I agree this is without a doubt not the type of beer that you would to drink warm. I can see myself knocking back a few glasses of this beer over some Mexican Enchiladas. This is a good change up pale lager, not something that I would want to drink every week. Cheers! B

Clear golden body, white head that recedes to a wisp and a thin collar. Little or no lacing.

Aroma: Green Chile pepper skins, light sweetness from malts.

Taste: Clean grains, light malt sweetness, and earthy green Chile pepper skin, a little bit of peppery heat in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Overall: As with most pepper beers, there’s not a lot of substance to this other than the pepper taste but it’s authentic tasting. Not all that spicy.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 8/24/2015. Pours slightly hazy medium golden/yellow color with a small fairly dense white head with decent retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty cap that lingers. Minimal lacing on the glass. Good appearance. Aromas of red/green chile peppers, skin/seeds, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of chile peppers, pale malts, and mild earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big red/green chile peppers, skin/seeds, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy hop bitterness and pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of red/green chile peppers, skin/seeds, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of chile peppers, pale malts, and mild earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, zero yeast notes preset. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as wexpected of 5.3%. Slightly increasing pepper heat through the glass, never overwhelming. Overall this is a very good pepper spiced pale lager. All around nice robustness and balance of chile peppers, pale malts, and mild earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and quite refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy finish. Very flavorful and no overdone on the peppers. Clean balanced pils malts, peppers, and mild earthy hops. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Pours a crystal clear, light straw color. Smell is fabulous, if you’re looking for the roasted peppers. This one pours with almost no head, and what does start disappears quickly. The taste is very good, again, given the pepper style. The mouthfeel is not good at all...almost watery. I wish it were more malty. It’s so light, it’s hard to tell it’s a beer. Overall, I like the pepper flavor, but not great for a brew.

12oz bottle, best by date of 2/26/18. Pours straw-colored with a below average sized head. Smells of green peppers, chilies, and lager; lots of vegetable. The taste follows exactly with a little less vegetable; green peppers, chilies, lager. Mild spice throughout. Decent body and average carbonation. Overall, it has a good body and base lager if you can get past the strong vegetable smell/taste.

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Smell is very vegetal. Taste is green chili and light lager with grass. Light bodied, sweet and slightly hot, with moderate carbonation. Pleasant for the style and the pepper is there but is never overwhelming...May not reach for chile beers all that often, but if I did this is one I would go for.

Nice looking see thru beer. Holy smokes I can smell the hot peppers dropping off of the nose on this beer. Taste translates and it's not wonderful. I'm not getting any burn but this ain't great. Feel: doesn't matter. Yikes. Had to edit my scores a bit lower. I couldn't finish this beer.

Clear, golden body capped with a thick, sticky, white head. Nice though faint smell of chilies and hot peppers. Good chili flavor backed with an unobtrusive light lager body. Warm, toasty flavor with pleasant sting of spicy hot peppers.

This chili beer is nicely balanced and comes with a well-rounded green chili flavor. The chili heat and flavor is rather mild yet does a good job of complementing the lager base.
