I am fond of the orange haze of this amber ale. The head was small and disappeared quickly. Bands of lace slowly descend down the glass. The fruity malt nose reminds me of oranges pears and fresh baked bread.
There is plethora of fruit flavors going on. Rasins, plums, orange rinds, and sour cherries. The hop bitterness is comforting and intermingles with the malt. Caramel, almond and earth balance out the fruit and spicy hop tones.
I could enjoy a few of these back to back. Nothing offensive and plenty to enjoy and ponder. An ale that not only stimulates the palate but also the brewing lobe in all of us.

Orange and brown appearance. Bready malt, mild hop impingement.
Taste was standard stuff, amber levels of roasting of the malt, mid 30-40 ibu territory. Easy to drink, leans more smooth than bitter.

I actually like this beer a lot, but apparently I'm in the minority, as I don't see it around much any more. Oh well. Update: looks like Mountain City Amber is the replacement for this one.
