Poured from 12 oz into nonic pint
A- Typical dark brown with a lighter brown glimmer. Very little tan head. No lacing whatsoever.
S- A hint of chocolate, some roasted malt. Slight coffee.
T- follows the nose somewhat. Slight sweetness from the honey.
M- Light to medium mf, fairly smooth going down.
O- Decent offering from Tommyknocker. Maybe a little more honey presence would've sweetened it up a bit. Otherwise, pretty average porter.

12 oz brown bottle - best by May 5, 2014
Tommyknocker Cocoa Porter changed my [clear] pint glass into dark brown producing a 1-finger tan head. The nose is dominated by light roasted coca malt with just a hint of sweetness from honey. The taste is also dominated by light cocoa/chocolate malt along with light coffee flavors. Where did the honey go? - hardly if at all noticeable. There is a mild bitterness to help balance the malt with a light burnt and dry finish. The mouth feel is the Achilles heel of this Ale. A little thin - almost watery.
For the style Cocoa Porter is lighter making it not filling and easy to drink. However, I prefer my porters a little heavier.

12 oz. bottle into craft pint.
A- Deep brown. Some red hues. Light tan head retains at a ring.
S- slight roast and sweet chocolate, but a strange smell of iron. I can't describe it better than the smell of an "old person." Something is way off.
T- Subtle roast. Just a faint cocoa. A bit metallic, too.
M- Too light, near watery.
O- There wasn't really anything good about this. At all.
