Gold Medal winning Butt Head Bock brewed with heavy toasted Hungarian Oak. Deep earth and wood notes make this specialty a substantially enjoyable brew for the connoisseur.

Pours a light orange/red, very transparent, with almost no head.
Smell isn't anything exciting and the taste doesn't do much for me. There's something in the taste that I really can't pick out. Whatever it is, it's distinct; not necessarily good though.
Perhaps part of my disappointment is that this was right next to the Tommyknocker Imperial Nut Brown Ale which I have enjoyed previously. In a rush, I thought this was an oaked version of the same. Once I got the bottles home, that's when I realized it was a bock.

Clear amber color with good carbonation and a head that quickly dissipates. Aromas of vanilla and dark fruit, toasted oak, & cinnamon. Flavor seems a little too dominated by the oak. Malty character a bit too hidden in the background. Besides that, this is a very well tasted beer and quite enjoyable. Very smooth & drinkable. No off flavors or high alcohol. A very solid beer that would be very enjoyable with some brats or in the winter months coming back from skiing in the Rockies.

Pours deep copper in color with a minor white head on top. Actually, I'd call this a shade or two darker than copper with some pretty nice auburn highlights in the glass.
It's aroma is rich of caramel with notes of molasses and brown sugar present. It's sweet smell is deliciously inviting.
Caramel malts lead it's flavor profile with hints of vanilla and molasses, yet it's flavor remains less sweet than it's aroma led me to believe it would be. A nice warming alcohol presence precedes a bready aftertaste. Smooth and undercarbonated mouthfeel.
Decent beer without any glaring problem, but it's also not blowing my socks off or anything.

Haven't had a Tommyknocker in forever! Picked this up for $2.50 a single at Vintage Estate. Pour is pretty nice deep dark woody with a 1/4 inch of froth that sticks around for a bit for a very attractive lace ring. Smell is kind of bitter and woody with some lager yeasts and some brown sugar like malts. Taste is better than I expected balanced wood, some sweet malts and a smooth lingering finish. ABV is well masked it drinks pretty medium bodied with no lingering ethanol.
Overall quite a exceptional brew if anything it trumps the regular version!

Pours clear, copper with 1/4 inch head. Taste is oak, bourbon, toasted malt, burnt sugar, and a touch of alcohol. Very good sweet treat where the oaking is very present. This one is a sipper and one I will get again.
