Poured out of a Growler on 6/12

Poured a nice golden pink smelled like berrys and maybe even a hint of apple (smelled alot like delerium). The Taste was alright, a little to much like the Sparkletini's my mother drinks, but albiet refreshing on a hot day.

The bottle says it uses real fruit but I'm sure loads of additional sugar was added, it smells like a jar of mixed berry jelly and looks like some carbonated kool aid. Head is off white pink tinged much like the body. Head dwindles really quick and leaves thin even layers of lace. Aroma is tart and cloyingly sweet with no evidence of this being an actual beer. This one is so sweet it hurts your teeth, and it gives you the mouthfeel after you just vomited. Sugary sweet mixed berry candy like cloying qualities pretty much kills the drinking experience another horrid offering from Tommyknocker. I gotta quit trying these beers thank god I only grabbed a single. Does it use real tundra berries? Are tundra berries fictitious? The world may never now...

Tee color is a mildly hazy copper. An off-white head grows to just over a finger tall but looks soft. It takes a little time to drop off, but not a whole lot. A bit of foam remains and a ring of lacing is left along with some spotting.
The aroma is fruity, mostly tart with some sweetness to it. There's a light grains element behind it. I suppose some malts are there, but I'm reminded more of a wine spritzer than a beer. Hops are minimal. There's nothing really different to be said about the flavor, either, as it translates from the aroma without change. It's a bit of apple flesh with some grape and cranberry. Yeast makes an appearance more strongly in the flavor. A pale ale? No. Certainly not what I'd hope for from a craft brewery, light or not.
It's a bit light and somewhat spritzy, though not without crispness. I suppose it's easy-drinking.

On tap at Sawmill Tap Room

Arrived an orangish amber with 1/4" of head. Decent retention. Smells primarily of raspberries and blueberries. The taste is sweet and tart, not a bad berry flavor, but one dimensional. Light bodied, crisp, a little heavily carbonated.

This one is far too sweet. It limits the drinkability. It also has an intense berry flavor which is only good if you absolutely love raspberries.

Written from notes taken at the brewery...

A-Honey amber in color, 1.5 fingers snow white head

S-Sweet raspberry jam and wheat

T-Very sweet, almost cloying, wet wheat and cranberries, raspberries intermingled

B- A little watery and almost flat

Overall I was surprised at how good this smelled and how the flavor was presented well too. The Body truly was its downfall, perhaps a weak setup with the carbonation at the tap?

Carefully poured from a long-standing bottle its a perfectly clear and beautiful pinkish-orange. Add the yeast and it becomes hazy. But anyway that you pour it, the bright white head dissipates almost immediately to just a very thin collar which leaves no lace. The nose is tart but clean with a non-specific fruit character that's like a blush wine or champagne. The body is light-medium and its very fine, natural, and moderate carbonation leaves it lightly crisp in the mouth. A bit of astringency is also reminiscent of wine. The flavor is tart and delicately fruity (apples, white grapes). There's no real bitterness to speak of, yet it's tart astringency leaves it quite dry in the finish. An interesting beer that's on it's way to becoming a lambic, but doesn't have any of the funkiness that really gives them character.

Poured from a 12-oz bottle into a pint glass. The beer pours a dark amber with red highlights with a very thin head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is all sweet raspberry with just a hint of tartness. The first, and almost only, thing you taste is sweet raspberries that washes through your mouth with a light-to-medium body. The carbonation also helps the crispness of the fruit flavors. It finishes sweet with just a hint of grape-skin tartness. An easy clean drinker that will become too sweet to handle near the end of the first beer.

A: Dark ferric oxide coloring has a feverish rise of densly packed micro-bubbles that fills the glass like a fine mist. The head is seashell white, slight and fizzy with a sudsy character to it, quick to dissipate leaving but a few whimpy lashes for lace. Nothing to see here move on.

S: Grape juice, perhaps raspberries with a hint of blueberry scents of moderate strength. Sugary sweet.

T: The flavor was as the nose indicated, sugary sweet malt, sweet berry juices with a mixture of raspberry and blueberry. Honey and syrup with a light toastedness really doesn’t seem like it mixes well or flows. Fruity notes of berries on the passs. A little more restraint on the fruitiness and sweetness thanks.

M: Light mouthful, quiet carbonation juice like consistency.

O: A bit overly sweet to partake in multiples. It is what it is, a fruit beer that tries for balance with some signs of maltiness but comes off overbearingly sweet.

candy like color starts to fill the glass, with a fizzy white top that seams to pop up and fall down immediatly. ehh. but then i took a whiff, fake berries, and just light kool aid like aroma. not even close to a good fruit beer. way too light and the flavors and aromas are so blatently artificial it was downright scary. light berrys and hints of sweet malts try and poke up but they are just remnants of what would make a good beer.

Bought this because I can't get Tommyknocker at home. It poured a copper color with a bright ruby haze to it. There was a small white head that fell quickly. Little to no lacing.

Lots of fruit in the smell. The blueberry really stands out.

Very fruity taste too. Sweet. Taste the blueberry first then the raspberry.

Light in the mouth and somewhat watery.

If you like sweet fruit beers this would be great for you. Stronger fruit taste and sweeter than I prefer.

A: Hazy light brown color with a head that looks like a cup of tea.

S: It smells like toast with butter and raspberry jam. Actually very nice.

T: The raspberry flavor hits right up front with a very weak and watery malt flavor. The beer is very sweet....almost splenda sweet. It reminds me of raspberry iced tea.

M: Very thin and watery.

O: Overall, within it's style, it's an average fruit beer. The flavor is ok, not something I would drink often though. The mouthfeel is pretty bad and reminds me of a iced tea.

It's a rare occasion when I pour out a 6-pack, but this one deserves it.

Pours a golden ale color. Nothing wrong with the look.

Smell is sour, stale ale aroma.

Taste is sour blueberries, fruity and very sugary. No hops. Like blueberry juice mixed with Yuengling. Blueberry by itself? Delicious. Yuenling by itself? Delicious. Together? GROSS.

Avoid this beer. Awful.

A - Pours a hazy red color with a half inch of head that turns to a light ring.

S - smell of cherry, Loganberry, and raspberry.

T - smooth and medium body, all the great fruit flavor with hops covered nicely. Not sour like most people say (maybe they changed the formula)

M - Like the taste except in my opinion the taste lingers and is pretty awesome. I could never see this as a D+ beer like I consider some undrinkable beers.

D - I wish I could buy a case. Heck I wish I could be so lucky like some users here to get a six pack. Unfortunately I can only find singles so totally worth and drinking at least two a siting.

Final thoughts: I bet a lot of people here really despise Leinenkugels berry Weiss review this beer and I like this beer too. I really hate to see this beer get such low rating when it is actually really good if not average. Not as sour as most say so pick one up and try it!
