Part of NEPA BC split #16.
Pours one of the strangest colors I've ever seen from a beer - a sort of reddish copper color, like maybe the color of apple strawberry or a juice of that nature. It's pretty clear and has about a finger and a half of off-white head that recedes to a thin lace and actually leaves a bit of stick.
Smell is a lightly sweet berry sort of fruity aroma. Doesn't smell all that bad, to be honest, but there's really nothing going on here other than the berry smell to even let you know it's a beer.
Taste is also super berry fruity but seems somewhat artificial, with a fruity pebbles sort of extract sweetness. It has a bit of tartness to it, as well. And like the smell there's really not a whole lot else going on - nothing terribly beer-like. It's not terrible, but it's not my cup of tea.
Mouthfeel is pretty light, with pretty soft carbonation. It's a little sticky in the mouth, like fruit juice.
I'm not a fruit beer fan to begin with, but this isn't one that I'd grab if I was really hankering for a fruit beer. This is a pretty girly fruit beer for people that don't like beer, I'd say. One's enough for me.

not one of the better fruit beers out there, this blueberry colored ale has virtually no head at all, and is a major letdown for me. it smells fruity enough, like the better parts of fresh jam, and of acidic juice from concentrate. I do not smell grain or hops that would identify this as a beer though, and that's a problem. the taste is also very fruity, but much less fresh, much less interesting, and much less enjoyable. there is a funny metallic taste too, and the grains are there, but feeling sort of stale and afterthoughty. the beer also has no carbonation at all, which in a brew that is supposed to be a summer session post hike refresher, is a major issue. fuller body too doesn't help, and overall just a very unimpressive summer seasonal. the idea of mixing berries into beer really entices me, and I wanted so badly for this to be good, but it really is one to avoid when you roll into Idaho springs.
