$1.99 for a 12oz bottle @ Bevco. Brewed with real pumpkin in the mash and the brew kettle. Hopped with Perle and Willamette. Also brewed with molasses and spices. 5.0% ABV, 15 IBUs.

Pours out to a quite dark mahogany, darker than any other pumpkin brew I've had. Must be quite a bit of molasses in here to add so much color. Forms a limpid light yellow head with poor retention and sparse lacing. Mild carbonation, ~2.0 carbs. The aroma is dominated by cinnamon, ginger, and a touch of nutmeg. Not much allspice or cloves. Minimal hop aroma to interfere with the spices, but there is just a hint, which is nice. Mouthfeel is rather thin and dry for the style. The molasses comes through nicely in the finish, and I think I'll be adding molasses to tweak my already pretty awesome homebrewed pumpkin ale. The body, again, is quite thin, and there isn't enough residual sweetness that I prefer in a pumpkin ale..I prefer to caramelize the pumpkin and add copious crystal malts to accentuate it without being cloying or heavy. There is a slightly chalky finish and a touch of hops comes through in the taste as well. The spices aren't overboard, which is my preference as well.

Well, it's OK as far as pumpkin ales go, but there are certainly better. Buffalo Bills is a good example of my preference for the style.

12oz. bottle poured into a tulip. Best by Feb 3, 2014. * was consumed before this date

(A)- Pours a very dark mahogany amber color. Some off-white froth and lacing.

(S)- Some nice rich combos of rustic spices and creamy pumpkin.

(T)- Quite dry and grainy with some subtle spices, though not much pumpkin to speak of. Some subtle dark fruits.

(M)- A good carbonation level. A nice subtle richness to the background with the proper seasonal spices, just lacing the pumpkin flavor one should expect from the style.

(O)- Not bad, but there is plenty of room for improvement. Lacking alot of actual pumpkin in all categories.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 2/3/2014. Pours lightly hazy deep ruby brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of pumpkin, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, light ginger, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and pumpkin notes; with solid strength. Taste of pumpkin, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, light clove, light ginger, herbal, and toasted earthiness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light chocolate, nutmeg, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for good bit. Nice balance, complexity, and robustness of pumpkin, malt, and light-moderate spice flavors; with no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice pumpkin ale. All around good robustness and balance of malt, pumpkin, and spice flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Number one....I'm not a pumpkin beer fan...number two...I don't like this....so please disregard if you are a pumpkin fan. The beer pours a dark brown with thin head that is not lacing. The scent has a faint spice. The taste is a watery pumpkin with hints of spice. The mouthfeel is light in body with little carbonation. Overall....no.

Dark brown in color to the point that you won't see much light through it. I get a millimeter of light brown tinged foam on top. I get a light whiff of molasses, but the pumpkin is very faint. The flavor is a dulled bit of molasses and some pumpkin. The mouthfeel is creamy and slightly chalky.

Poured into a Tommyknocker shaker pint.

The beer is as murky and dark as a mud puddle in Autumb. A country vanilla ice cream colored head calms to a wisp. Light splotches of lacing stay on the glass.

The aroma is part cranberry tart, with some earthy rich molasses and brown sugar.

The taste is also a cranberry tart beginning then slides into spices, gooey molasses, and a subtle pumpkin afterthought.

The mouthfeel is solid, medium in weight, and almost chewy but not quite.

Overall, considering the modest ABV, this is a real gem, and one of my favorite pumpkin ales.
