The entry was closer to SE 12th Street on Brickell Avenue, but the place ran the width of the block up to Southeast 13th Street. There was a massive patio area that began in the front and ran down both sides of the building. The entryway was center with a long vestibule that opened onto a dark wood cabinet of logo items that doubled as the m.d.s. on left wall with a private meeting room to right. Long "U"-shaped, marble and wood-topped bar to right. The massive brewhouse and numerous FVs ran down the length of the right wall behind the back bar, culminating in the Marzen Room, a high-end private meeting room (think luxury box) and the lavs just beyond. High tables and chairs dominated the rest of the bar area. The restaurant area was to the left past a short glass-topped wall and consisted mainly of booth seating until the SE 13th Street side, which fronted the windows with standard tables and chairs. Kitchen all of the way aft left.
Opulent! Mind-boggling! The dollars that went into this must have been staggering. I want to weep.

Visited this place for a late lunch. It's located on the financial district of Brickell, in downtown Miami. It has the looks of an upscale sports bar with a lot of TVs showcasing sports and areas with high table tops and chairs.
Service was pretty good although the place wasn't really busy since it was a late lunch. The selection was a bit on the weak side as they seem to focus way too much on lagers. They also have rotating seasonals available. Food was good, I had a swiss cheese & mushroom burger that complemented the beer I had pretty well. Their fries are awesome too. Prices are reasonable for beer but on the high side for the food (then again, this is in downtown Miami).
Overall, a decent place to stop by in a busy downtown area and enjoy a few beers.

For anyone reading this, remember that this place in in the middle of downtown business district Im surprised they didnt put in a more suburban location.
Ive been to this place several times (its next to our regional office next door), and yes, a couple of years ago it was the *new* thing and much busier. Its slowed down quite a bit, but remains a decent place to grab a few tasty brews. I dropped in at 2 pm on a Thursday, there was only a dozen people inside which enables us to have a normal conversation.
Its fairly large (250 inside, 100 at the bar and 90 patio seats), clean and modern (dark walnut tables, an *upscale* environment). All the brews are fresh and tasty, and they have rotating offerings. It may be a chain, but they keep all locations upbeat and worth dropping by.
(Side note: There is another local, more intimate spot just 5 blocks away, on SE 7th ave & S. Miami ave called Tobacco Road. Has bands, eats, and outside seating, more of a dark dive bar, but perhaps worth a drop-by. It has a small, but decent draft & bottles of *premium* imports St. Paula, etc)

On a recent trip to Miami a friend and fellow beer nerd took me here. The atmosphere wasnt very much as expected at first, like another reviewer said its placed in the middle of the financial district right by a pretty upscale neighbourhood, so it doesnt really have that intimate independant feel. However, the ambience of the place is pretty nice for what it is, a large, modern looking, upscale brewery/restaurant. Of their own beers i had a pilsner and a marzen both of which were solid brews and i enjoyed a lot, i also sampled a few other beers from my friends and all were tasty and everyone seemed very happy with their own choices. Service was good as well, our waiter was friendly and helpful albiet a little on the slow side, but it was a busy night so understandable. Selection was average as far as i'm concerned, yes the beers were well done, but being an ale drinker i was hoping for more than a few traditional german lagers. As far as food, i had some pizza which was pretty good, and everyone else on the table seemed to enjoy their meals too. Overall i found this to be a solid establisment, reasonable priced, good brews, and decent food. I would def hit it again next time im in the miami area, and i even picked up a glass as a souvenir.

Visited on a Monday evening about 8 p.m.
The place is very open, clean, inviting, definitely upscale. Dark wood and metal. Staff in all black but very attentive and friendly.
Pricey but considering it's downtown Miami, probably not so much.
The Moroccan chicken was very good and the salmon and burger my dining companions had looked equally good. They spend lots of time here and come back because the food is so good. Menu is quite extensive.
Sadly, the beer was just decent and only their own stuff. Nothing special but consistent.
Parking seriously sucks!

Standard lookin GB branch, with large bar area inside, several tables out in front on the corporate buildng, and many other tables for eater. Six taps on, served fairly too cold, but a few were spot on the style, if not a bit too cold. Very fresh beer, suggesting good turnover. This GB is downtown Miami, and near downtown hotels. Service was initially slow, surprising as there was a good server to customer ratio here, after normal lunchtime. People did their thing, and getting you a drink quickly was not on the agenda.

Gordon Biersch is basically a glorified sports bar serving mostly American food with a few hints of German in the mix.
GB is a really good for grabbing some beer, as they offer a very wide beer selection, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. They also have some in house brews that are pretty solid.
I'm not a big fan of the food however. Most of the dishes are pricey and lack in flavor and execution.

A large open space in the heart of the business district, this was somewhat overwhelming and yuppie filled. VERY LOUD. The service at the bar was very mediocre. This is not what you are expecting when you go to a brewpub. In the lobby of an office building. I looked at the menu, but didn't eat.
A large number of their beers on tap, 8 or 9. I had three. The first one, the golden Ale, almost made me toss my cookies. You know how you drink something, and you start salivating excessively to keep from, well, you know. That's what happened here. Now maybe it was such a change from the previous brewpub beers that I had had that day, but I don't think so. The Dunkle wasn't bad, wasn't good. Light bodied for a dunkle, and light on the flavor. I don't remember what the third beer was. It wasnt worth remembering.
I wouldn't go back here for the beer, that's for sure. And you have the usual parking problems for a downtown area.
