A good brew, looks nice too, although this is the first time i ever deducted marks for too much head! Quite finely and vigorously carbonated, multiple pours required to get 22oz into my 30oz mug. First time that ever happened. Hazy coppery amber body capped by an insanely huge chunky off white head that just wants to stick around. Big sticky clumps of lace that also just want to stick around.

Hints of cherry and clove accentuate a solid malt body with bready notes as well as toasted biscuit character. Slightly cheesy finkiness also present, along with a kiss of lemon and herbal hops.

An interesting brew. Nuances of cherry and toffee accentuate the dry malt backbone made up of mostly toasted biscuit flavour. Slightly vinous in character. Mildly funky and phenolic yeastiness with the touch of clove is replaced by the clean, mild hops with their essence of lemon and green herbs, as well as a mild floral character.

Light bodied and insanely effervescent, with an almost pronounced fruity character. Also surprisingly dry, and somewhat powdery or even chalky in feel.

Quite complex for something so light bodied, and quite tasty. Almost session fare, although in this brew's case the complexity limits the drinkablility more than the ABV. Only criticism would be to tone down the carbonation and to clean up the funk slightly. Definitely worth trying, and will be drinking this one again soon.

22 oz. bottle purchased 3 days ago, and poured into a Belgian snifter.

Appearance: Amber-orange hue with a huge, foamy, durable off-white head. Gobs of lacing, but the bottle foamed over after opening, and again after pouring about 10 oz. of beer.

Aroma: Yeasty with suggestions of banana and bubblegum. These clash with some earthy/spicy hops.

Flavor: more sour than expected which, together with the over-flowing bottle lead me to suspect some contamination. Mildly bitter finish and aftertaste. Plenty of hop kick for style.

Mouthfeel: near medium body; high carbonation.

O: perhaps a bad bottle and worthy of a re-test, but not so bad that I can conclude this with confidence.

Bomber poured into an imperial pint.

A- Dark orage color with a finger plus of off white, fluffy head. Average retention.

S- Yeast forward nose with no trace of malt or fruit. Smells a little hot.

T- Belgian like yeast hits me right off the bat. Barely any hop to speak of. Slight caramel sweetness present as well.

M- Light and crisp mouthfeel with a dry finish.

O- I thought I would give Flat Earth another try this evening. I find myself feeling the same after each and every ale I try (except the pumpkin ale). Overall, it is a decent Belgian style pale, though I hesitate calling it a pale at all as the hops are not easily detected. Slightly above average in my opinion but a nice change of pace from a daily pale. Cheers.

A- Copper-orange. Slightly hazy. Head is one finger, ever so slightly off white. Retention is mediocre.
S- The smell is earthy sweet, with a bit of biscuit. A bit more hop than most Belgians and not much fruit.
T- The fruityness comes through just a touch here with a peachy opening. There is some caramel as well. Finish is still sweet but a bit of earthyness brings some roundness to it.
M- Medium-full body. Carbonation is low and smooth. A bit too sticky though.
O- I love most Flat Earth beers and most Belgians, but this one was not that special. Middle of the road.
