22oz bottle, New Belgium globe, and no freshness date. Thank you for the extra, Craig!
It is a fine looking beer. The color is glowing orange amber and the head is a big tower of a thing. It's color is the standard off-white and the retention is solid. Everything is as it should be in an APA.
The aroma of Cascades is undeniable; floral, grassy, lemon and orange citrus, and slightly soapy. The Irish Ale yeast strain the bottle says they used is pretty apparent as well. This could pass as an American interpretation of the Irish Red style. There is caramel and nutty malt.
Flavors are right in line with what I smell. Caramel and Munich malt with soapy, floral Cascade. A little salinity or just savory sneaks in. I like the malt bill even though it wanders between APA, Amber, Oktoberfest, and Irish Red Ale territory.
Some how I served this a little too warm for the style. It's full bodied for a pale, with moderate-low carbonation. Creamy.
This is a very pleasant pale ale with those classic Cascades, though the emphasis keeps coming back to nice malt bill.

Appearance: Clear red-copper color with a finger amount of head that holds very nicely. The lacing is also very good at sticking and holding to the glass.
Aroma: I picked up some orange-grapefruit from the American hops, but with some kind of funk-tang I can't identify.
Taste: Grapefruit comes through on the taste with some of that funk. A slight breadiness was easier to pickup when warmed up more. Hint of toffee like carmel. The bitterness is harsh on the tongue, distracts me from the flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation and light body. Again the bitter harshness does something that seems to affect the feel.
Overall: The harsh bitterness was unfavorable and the hop aroma was less than expected. The malt character was difficult to pickup until warmer. For the style it seems a little off with a few things.
