No freshness dating on the bottle.

A= Pours an amber color with a finger of thick head nice retention. Decent lacing on the side of the glass.

S= The smell has a little more subtle hop aroma that I would have expected being that it is advertised as hopped up. That said it is a decent smelling pale ale with a hop presence. A little caramel malt character comes through as well.

T= The taste is a much more hopped up than the smell. The hops actually do become aggressive and yet clean as a pale ale should be. The malt character melds well offering a little sweetness that follows the hops up making a nice fruity flavor.

M= The mouth is right where it should be.

O= This beer was a surprise. Flat Earth hasn't really made me think too much about repeat buys. That said this is a solid brew. The nose didn't make me think it was gonna work out but it did. This beer is worth checking out and I would but a sixer if they made them.

A: Brilliant tea colored amber, white foam cap.
S: Citrus, biscuit
T: Light biscuit and traces of fruit ease into a citrusy bitter finish.
F: Creamy, above average effervescence O: This is an APA with citrusy but not aggressively bitter hops.

Appearance: Clear amber, ok head.

Smell: Earthy, mild dark fruit.

Taste: Toffee, earthy, flash of citrus then back to earthy and bready finish.

Overall: I thought this was going to be an amped up version of Angry Planet either in hop aroma or hop flavor after reading the bottle, instead it's more like an English pale ale with earthy and bready flavors instead of citrus/pine hop flavors. It just hit stores so it shouldn't be old. A bit of a disappointment.

22oz bottle with d17 hand written on the bottle in a snifter.

A-clear amber golden. Nice head retention. Crisp white head.

S- strong Carmel malts, not a whole lot of hops.

T- strong Carmel malts. Not a lot of hop presence. A little bit of bitterness

M- light body, strong carbonation.

0- not really sure what to think of all the malt. Really no hops at all. Makes me thing this is either older poorly stored. Also confused why its not reviewed yet.. Would like to comeback to this beer sometime later and see if its any different.

Not quite "as advertised." You're thinking when you pour it you'll get "bombarded with a meteor shower of hops," but I found the opposite to be true: not much of a hoppy smell or taste at first sip.

Very earthy undertones with a dry finish. Sure, it's an "American Pale Ale," but not a very hoppy one.

Appearance: clear, bright bronze, head is slim but solid and staying, a creamy-toned off-white hue.

Aroma: herbal and earthy hops, plenty of fruit esters, apple, grape, with much malt.

Taste: MMmm…ahhh. I like this! Plenty of fruit, plenty of bitter, but terrifically malty and smooth. Medium bodied, lightly bitter, juicy, fruity, and just plain delicious. Fantastically downable, a top-notch APA.

Let's read the label, on the other side of the cool illustration by DWITT: "Take our american pale ale The Angry Planet, bombard it with a meteor shower of hops and what do you get? THE LIVID PLANET!
Although Cascade hops remain the star of the brew, this unique blend nicely raises the hop level without being a true IPA. THE LIVID PLANET pairs well with any spicy dish or all by itself on a clear evening while star gazing for the next meteor shower."

American pale, Munich, Crystal and Wheat malts; Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe and Cascade hops, American ale yeast and St. Paul water. O.G 1.06, SRM, 13, IBU 81, Alcohol 6% ABV.

I like this. Tasty ale that drinks like a dream.
