This one is a dark amber colored liquid with some serious crimson highlights. Almost two fingers of dark tan colored foam make the head. The retention is very good and the lacing is thick and full, but slightly slick.

A big presence of tart cherries dominates the nose. There are also some good hints of oak and an almost wine-like quality going on. light hints of acetone.
This is a complex nose that is full of very interesting smells and I can't wait to drink it.

The big cherry notes are inescapable. Lots of tartness with a very light undertone of sweetness. Huge oak presence is absolutely delicious. Once again, this is very wine-like. It's definitely a beer, but it totally has some wine characteristics going on. Light traces of vanilla wisp in and out. More dark fruit notes are noticed, but they disappear quickly. Light touches of dry leather. A mild spiciness hits you mid-palate. The finish is to the dry side, yet manages to linger for awhile.

This one is medium-bodied with a medium-to-high level of carbonation. It has a sharpness that comes from the tart aspect of it, yet has a light touch of creaminess to it also, which is quite refreshing.

This is very nicely drinkable. It is sour enough to be interesting, yet not so sour as to pucker your face. The 8.5%abv is exceptionally well-hidden also, which sure doesn't hurt.

Can I just write sour over and over for this review? Because this was sour—intensely sour, mouth-puckering sour, battery acid eating my taste buds off my tongue sour… like vinegar, tart cherries, strawberries before ripe sour. It was –and I never get to say this—a little too much for me. Sour!

Thanks alot peensteen for this awesome extra!

Appearance: It has a nice deep brownish amber color to it. It has practically no head, just some off-white bubbles and leaves no apparent lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of a bunch of tart cherries, vinegar, dark berries, grapes and some oak. Damn this smells great.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has loads of tart cherries, black berries, red grapes, vinegar and the oak becomes more prevalent towards the end. It has alot of acidity.

Mouthfeel: It has a low carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas. Solid

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass, vintage 2012.

Lifeless pour. Watery and a bit slapping, but comes with no head generation at all. Classic oud bruin color, deep mahogany brown. After the pour manages to actually create a tan collar which always sticks around. Not as lifeless looking as I expected.

Holy carp is this tart, and it smells like balsamic soft vinegar, and classic deep sour cherry. Lots of oxidation going on here, but some nice malt and acid background. Not horrifically smelling, that first pour had me a bit scarred, but now I am very curious to see how this has handled.

Boy this is an odd one in the palate. Big tartness, and vinegar acid, but with a light bodied soft feel. Classic sour cherry finish and some malted sweetness in the back. The soft acid and big vinegar is strong with this one. I have to take this slowly.

Quite a bit of oxidation but in a good way, not ruined, but not quite optimal. A very unique creation and probably a sour heads oud bruin fantasy, but there's more to life than being slammed by the obvious.
