This beer poured out as a clear brown color with a pretty thick looking foam on top. The lacing was sticky along the glass. The smell of this beer had a lot of herbal notes and plenty of Juniper or Gin-like aromas coming off of it. The taste of the beer was great, same elements that were on the nose plus some additional spice. The mouthfeel was really smooth and semi-thick leaving a great coating in the mouth. Overall this beer was pretty awesome. I really enjoyed it and wish it was more popular around my area. I suppose I got lucky having it when I did.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at Churchkey.

Pours a somewhat dark brown color with a tad bit of garnet hues coming through. The nose is a bit crazy with a lot of spice cabinet going on as well as some light sweetness and a bit of juniper and other gin qualities. The taste mixes all the somewhat-exotic notes quite well. Nice and bitter with a slight sweetness. I liked this one quite a bit.

A: Dark brown color with a small head that settles quickly to leave profound and long-lasting lacing.
S: Aroma of butterscotch and pine needles.
T: Flavor begins with sweet candy, a background of apples, then progresses to a jumbled gemisch of spice and dandelions.
M: good body.
D: An interesting concept, but comes across as confused rather than complex.

Served on draft, beer is brown and clear. Forms a white head with not much lacing and the carbonation is low.

Beer smells like juniper berries, maybe some rosemary, there is also an odd sourish smell on the backend of the aroma. Interesting, makes me want to drink it....

I was wrong....this beer is...woodsey and not in a good way. This really isn't my cup of tea so to speak. Beer is thin, sweet up front, harsh in the back, really harsh. There is some spice on the backend, again i'm thinking rosemary but total yuck. I've had worse beers but, not again.

Amber pour with a small off-white head. Distinctive sweet herbal flavour, which reminded me a little of the ebulum beer made by Heather Ales. There's a very pleasing caramel aspect, and the herbs are quite hearty, but the individual mix is quite hard to pin down...perhaps there is some sage in there. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is restrained. A very well done beer all round, and one of the best I've had from Le Saint-Bock so far,
