This is the place to go for German Beer if you're in the Mid Hudson valley area.

Their selections are almost exclusively German Imports, if not completely. They have 6 taps and several bottled selections.

If you're going to eat, be hungry. A sandwich is more than a meal here. I had Saurbraten .... very tender, flavorful and enjoyable.

The bar setup, unfortunately, is inefficient for the establishment. The bar top is overriden with glassware, both clean and dirty, and can benefit greatly from some reorganizaiton. The staff and management thought nothing of placing dirtly glassware right in front of me at the bar and leaving them there for 30 minutes. If a customer were at a table, I don't think anyone would concider putting dirty dishes from other people at the table, so I'm not sure why this is concidered OK here. {Pet Peeve}

I was there on a busy Friday night, and three bartenders couldn't keep up with the demand. Of course, a lot of this had to do with the fact that there wasn't a bar-back, nor were their responsibilities clearly divided amongst table service for the waitors and bar service.

In closing ... Go, Enjoy, have some patience, but it should be a worthwhile trip.

UPDATE May 2009

They didn't have Maibocks this year. The owner said he dropped the ball on this one. Well, yes, he did. I'm not sure how you do 100% German beers in a German restaurant, and drop the ball on getting a Maibock.
