Solid stop for locals and fellow Canadians on a quick beer run while the missus or mister is shopping (or gambling). Easy to find, maybe 15 minutes from border if that. The way I like to roll is order my west coasties from Fred, Bine 'n Vine or whoever and have them sent to UPS store on Military rd which is right on the way to this place. I grab my Pliney and then hit Consumers. It's a dive but great selection of Stone, Founders, Sierra, Bell's, Dogfish, growlers. Some Belgian stuff but hey I can actually get that in Canada. Very good selection - I got a BA Narwhal this trip. Guys are okay but not real experts. Mostly fresh although you do have to check as sometimes I have found Red's RYE and Ballast Point stuff is a bit long in the tooth. Anyway after Consumers turn right out of the parking lot and drive about 25 minutes to Premier Gourmet. Grab some other goodies and then drive towards the peace bridge where Village Beer Market is right on the way about 10 minutes away. You might fins something interesting there and will at least have a good beer geek out if you want. I personally always declare my beer and have had to pay duty maybe once out of 10 times. Guys are cool if you only have a case.

The good: has everything you can find at Wegmans and more, with a dozen or so taps for growler fills. Huge variety, well-organized shelves, lots of refrigerated craft beer.

The bad: grisly, unwelcoming employees, dumpy location with a deserted, sketchy-looking parking lot, fulfills every stereotype of your typical cheap American liquor store (overly bright lights, dirty floor, customers smoking beside ice box out front).

A destination for its gigantic selection, just don't expect to be 'wowed' by the service or aesthetics.

Consumers has 12 beers on tap, a cooler full of beers and a bunch of bombers lying about... By my local standards, we are looking at 5s all around, but I have come to expect a bit more from border stops. The selection had no mixed 6's, and bombers are all $6+ (many $12-15) so that can't do it. The people are nice, but they known only the high test brews when I visited and angles me towards something I did not enjoy as it was way too cloying...

Lots of beers, though not a ton here. I may be poisoned by some places closer to home, but this doesn't really hold a candle in terms of international selection to what I am used to...

Prices were OK, but many were more than I would pay back home...

This is a pretty awesome place. From the outside it looks like a dump, but on the inside it's been very clean and well organised the last two times I've been there. The selection is fantastic! The growler wall always has a good choice. The prices are fairly reasonable. My only beef with Consumer's is that you really have to check the dates on the bottles. The stouts are okay, but I ended up walking out with a 4 pack of DFH 90 Minute IPA only to realize later on that it was bottled almost six months prior. Overall great place, keep your eyes open for good deals, and thank goodness they take more than just cash now!

This is about as good of a selection as you are going to get in Niagara Falls. They have an excellent variety of micros, including a good selection of bombers. They have all the great micros like Sierra Nevada, Great Lakes, Victory, DFH, Flying Dog, etc. I've also picked up some great specialty/seasons beers there - GD Oak Aged Yeti, Goose Island BCS, lots of Stone bombers, etc.

A great selection of beer that is just minutes over the Canadian border. Definitely a staple for any southern Ontario BA's.

This is a small store that has only been around for a few years but what they lack in space in age is made up in selection, service, and price. Since I am from the area, it was the first place other than the west coast that I found Stone products, and that makes me a happy man. The staff is always helpful and I am always able to find at least a couple bottles to bring home each time I go. The prices are especially good on most of the bombers. There really isn't much game in town so Consumer's is a must visit for me every time I'm home.

While visiting Niagara Falls, Canada I decided to go over to the US side to check this store out (thanks beerfly!). I had quite high expectations based on a previous review and based on a look at their list of beers available. I was not disappointed. Coming from Sweden, I was like a kid in a candy store seeing all those American craft beers. A great collection of both european and north american beers, both single bottles, 4-packs, 6-packs, 12-packs etc. I went there on a Sunday so it wasn't very crowded. The staff was nice and helpful.

I wish I had a store like this where I'm coming from - pure bliss :)
I have a feeling I will go back there again, as I eventually am relocating to Canada.

I love this place. They have many choices of beers. They serve beers in growlers as well, so that is a great bonus. They also sell the growlers so you can continue to enjoy your draft beer. They have all the local favorites, and the typs of beers that are sometimes hard to find. Like Yeungling Porter. Or SA Creat Stout or Honey Porter in sixers. Great place to get just about any beer. They sell beers in sixers or in 12 pack boxes. They also have larger 750ml bottles of beers. Most of it is domestic, but there are some gems to be found as well
