Best beer bar in the region outside GTA. There are 20 tap handles and expanding...cask ale all the time and a constant rotating selection of the best imports, one offs and specuial brews from local micros...as good or better than the Judge in Hamilton....and certainly superior to the Wooly in Guelph for selection.
The food is casual dining and ranges from pub grub to prime rib and schnitzel. House specialties are the excellent Castle soups of the day and the daily hot sandwich. Personal favorites are the bar BQ Pork loin sandwithch and a bowl of sweet and sour soup serbed with the famous Castle skin-on fries.
For ambiance you have the choice of sitting in the modern bight birch wood accented beer lounge and bar at the front or going to the steak house room in the back decorated in wroght iron with a central fireplace....looks like a plush family steakhouse from the 60s with a medieval heraldry castle interior theme ( repleat with suit of armour, sheilds and other trappings)...even if a tad dated it's in immaculate shape and clean as whistle.
Located at the east end of Kitchener a couple of blocks of the hiway 8 connection to the 401, it's an easy pace to get to...and you cant miss the white medieval castle turrets accross from the Rockway gardens...it's a local land mark.

They adervitise this place as "Beer Heaven" and absolutley true for this area of the country. They will have on tap a "Real Ale" or Cask Conditioned" beer usually from Wellington Breweries which is a local regional brewery. On tap are a variety of german, english, irish, scotish and other regional brews. They have ales, stouts, and largers.
Food is excellent. We loved the "english" style chips (fries for NA). Staff are exceptionally friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. There is both a british style pub and restaurant. 2 TVS are available for watching sports or whatever else is on.
