Appearance- Pours up an okay amount of head that doesn't have much retention at all. The head is a pure, cotton-white while the body is a pale to medium amber that appears as pale in the light. Lacing looks to have elements of sheeting.

Nose- Unmistakable aroma of C-hops from this one. Orange, lemon, and grapefruit per usual. Still very strong after two months. Light notes of pine and resin in the background. Not very complex but still quite delicious and inviting.

Taste- Starts off with the notes of the nose but lighter. Orange and lemon on the front but only for a brief second when loads of pine and resin take over. Some grapefruit, light matchstick, and a tendency toward earwax. Doesn't have much of a linger which is good (at least for me). Slight hints of spice, maybe even a little pepper. The hops bitterness starts to fade somewhat and show more of the fruity aspects of the front; the beer even starts to get a little juicy. The two months show somewhat as the hop profile seems lesser than it would have been. Not necessarily degraded (no cardboard) but more in the background than this beer would lead you to believe. Not terribly complex with not much presence either. Pretty much an above average beer.

Mouthfeel- A little more than light bodied with a light juiciness and appropriate amount of carbonation.

Drinkability- Fairly accessible but a little more bitter than I want out of a low ABV beer. This is more for a hop bomb lover who doesn't want all the alcohol but it would probably be a disappointment that type of beer drink as well. Standard Great Divide. Not a repurchase.

Overall- Average to above average beer, closer to above average. Seems okay for an ISA but it's not really a style I feel any need for. Worth a try for a ticker like me but that's about it.

First "session IPA", a style I don't really believe in, from a brewery that I have utmost respect for. Let's see how this goes...

Label on the bottle OK, not tantalizing. Little cowboy silhouette on a cream colored label with "LASSO" in powder-blue lettering. Head is waifish and fleeting, but brew sports a respectable color. Nothing to write home about, though. Nose is super-dank and really citrus, really sweet. Grapefruit-mango-almost-pineapple-thing going on. All pretty much unrepresented in the flavor - this is an IPA? There's really no bitter backing to this, nor is there any malty-middle, it's just a really lightly flavored peach seltzer-like drink.

I could see drinking this after Jazzercising, speed-walking, or taking it sailing. Maybe as an entry-level for someone who "wants to like IPA". Certainly wouldn't buy a six of it, and still not buying into the session-IPA style. Fortunately I got this in the variety pack.

Still love ya, GD, but I'll stick to the Titan.

Bottled on JAN 10 2014
L - deep golden/near amber ale topped with a fluffy white head that slowly fades
S - earthy, herbal, citric, piny nose, caramel malt in the background
T - pungent from the get-go with earthy, herbal, piny hops taking over the palate. Some bready caramel malt is present but doesn't hold up at all to the hop assault
F - thinner than medium body, pleasant carbonation, very astringent finish
O - I just need to stop tyring these session IPA's. This needs more malt to give it more sweetness and a malt backbone, and more body. It's all hops, and even though I do appreciate the classic IPA hops used here, I'm just not a big fan of this one.

Pours golden with 2 fingers of pearl white head. Stellar head retention & lacing

S: Grass, floral notes & both fade over time

T: Follows the nose, orange peel & lemons up front. Lovely bready notes as this warms, a touch of grapefruit & lemongrass too. Finishes with a little bready sweetness, grapefruit & lemons & a touch of herbal hops, plus dryness

MF: Medium bodied with firm carbonation, good balance

Drinks easy, not as good as All Day, but a suitable substitute

Great DIvide's entry into the "session IPA" sweepstakes proves to be a winner! Pours a semi-cloudy amber, with a nice head of white suds. Gorgeous, detailed lacing.

Nose is crisp citrus hops. A great beginning!

Taste is a wonderful blend of thick and chewy tropical and citrus hops. I get orange, mango, pineapple, and grapefruit in the mix. Absolutely a treat and one I'll be looking for again.
