Much thanks to Raider for this one.
This beer poured an almost clear coppery deep amber. Decent one finger off white/amber head formed which faded into quite nice lacings.
Very nice aroma. Citrusy smells, some lemon, and more grapefruit on top of sweet yeasty/bready scents that blend into caramelly toasty scents. A hint of vanilla is also present. As the beer warmed the caramelly notes shifted more towards toffee.
Tasted like a buttered toasted caramel coated grapefruit peal sandwich. In a very good way. Very pleasing stylistically balanced flavours between bold maltiness and even bolder hops. Flavour fades into a pleasantly sweet bready/piney afterglow.
This beer does it for me, and is a great example of the style in my interpretation. The sweetness of the malts is appropriately cancelled out by the hoppy bitterness. The carbonation adds its sparkle to what feels like a malt and hop party in my mouth.
This is a rich and decadent, bold, beer. A great way to indulge as the sun goes down on a hot summers day. Too rich to be a session beer for my tastes, but definately fits into more quality vs less quantity. This is something ill be looking for again.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Bottled on 4/18/14.
A- Hazy orange with reddish accents. Poured with a thin 1/4 finger head that moved to a quick lace within a minute.
S- Pale malts, biscuit, some faint citrus and grass.
T - Very subdued, more like an English IPA. Mango, orange, dirt and grass on the finish, with some spice lurking in the background.
M - Carbonation is medium low, a touch watery, but very smooth refreshing.
O - Not sure if being three months old muted the hops some. Either way, this is a highly drinkable IPA that goes down fast. Will seek it out again if I find it closer to the bottle on date.
