12 oz bottle traded with a local friend obtained during a trip he took into Colorado. This beer was poured into my perfect pint. Bottled on Apr 30, 2012.
Appearance: An almost clear golden amber beer with a rocky off white two finger head. Leaves some spotty lacing as it recedes. Very inviting.
Smell: Caramel malts mixed with citrus and pine. This particular bottle is a little old, so I may not be able to get all of the original scents.
Taste: This beer has a resinous sweetness. A caramel maltiness mixes with pine and a nice hoppy bitterness.
Mouthfeel: A smooth silky mouthfeel, very nice. Carbonation that is a little on the lower side. All combined a decadent feeling beer.
Overall: I am sure this is an excellent IPA. I need to re-review when I have a more fresh bottle. Even with this age, I am getting wonderful tastes. Why in the world does Utah have to be so ignorant with respect to beer. Brewed in Denver, and I cannot purchase it in SLC, makes not sense.

Poured from a bottle into a glass. Pours a dark copper color, with minimal head that quickly leaves behind a nice lacing on my glass.
Smells of hops and a bready malt. I'm familiar with the brewery and their other IPAs, and the hop-malt balance is what I've come to expect and enjoy from them.
It tastes of piney, citrusy hops with a bready and caramel malt flavor following. The taste is very well balanced between hops and malts, with nothing being extremely overpowering.
It's moderately carbonated, and also thicker than I was expecting from a non-double IPA. Still, goes down quite smoothly.
Overall, another solid offering from the Great Divide. I was expecting a lot, and not let down.
