Appearance- poured into a Big Sky pint glass from 12 oz bottle- perfect appearance for what I had heard about this beer and couldn't find before in PA. (found on Topsail Island, NC on 7/11/13). Bottled on date is 5/23/2013.
Perfect deep golden-amber color, 1 1/2 finger head with long retention and nice lace stickiness on the glass that holds for the duration.
Smell- A little sweeter than expected and less piney than expected- but very nice- candy and medicinal to me at this time.
Taste- outstanding taste- really amazing-and smooth; so perfectly balanced for the amount of hop you can taste which I was hoping for in this beer, by the back end malts- very well hyped beer and it lives up to it. Big strong flavor but not overwhelming to me- so good I would call this sessionable for me even at 7.1% ABV.
Mouthfeel- Perfect carbonation as well- smooth and not overly carbonated, a bit chewy
with a long tongue. I like to sip this one slowly when possible to savor it., though it is so good it can be hard to hold back here.
Overall- Love it and recommend to anyone who likes hops- Definite Must Try IPA by Great Divide- serious great beer here! Thanks Swingbridge and the babe behind the counter!

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger cap of a pure white color. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time to leave a light level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a bready malt smell with some notes of graininess mixed within. Along with the bready smells are some nice earthy and piney smells as well as some sweeter aromas. The sweet aromas are mainly of a fruit nature with some pear, orange, and a little bit of a tropical fruit smell of mango.
Taste – The taste begins bitter bite right from the start with a nice earthy flavor mixed with some grapefruit hop as well. Along with the bitter hop are some nice bready and sweeter tangerine and mango flavors that end up balancing the hop nicely with the sweeter and malty flavors creating a base taste that lasts throughout the flavor profile. As the taste advances further, more hop flavors come to the tongue with some more earthy tastes as well as a resinous pine. While these increases in hop flavors come, the grapefruit mellows some and a bit of a doughy and caramel flavor take its place. This creates a smoother taste at the end of the tongue, and when mixed with the nice hop profile leaves a rather pleasant “dank hop” flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. For the mix of bready and hoppy flavors the thicker body is fantastic as it accentuates these flavors wonderfully all while the higher carbonation level keeps it quite refreshing.
Overall – A very tasty and nicely malty and hoppy IPA. Quite nice.
