Titan IPA is a big, aggressively hopped India Pale Ale brewed for hop disciples. It starts out with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishes with a nice rich, malty sweetness that is balanced with crisp hop bitterness.

2007 Australian International Beer Awards, Silver Medal, IPA

I bought a case of Titan IPA [with the new package design] at the Beeryard yesterday for Christmas.

This beer is becoming scarce in SEPA..everyone loves it and fresh cases are snatched up fast around here.

Anyway it pours a clear gold/orange..typical to style, with fresh spongy foam and incredible lacing. Aroma is of piney hops, canned pineapple, peach and melon.

Taste is slow to unfold. First we have notes of: oily hop resin, booziness, a maltiness [more rich than most IPA's, but certainly not Hopdevil-rich], then a drying on the tongue forms a semi long lasting bitterness, which is good..but then there is this unfortunate twinge of metallic canned pineapple/sour grapefruit finish.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability: Tiny bit of harshness associated with this case of Titan, even sourness, something I don't previously remember experiencing when I had this before on tap [many times]. I also do not remember this taste existing in the previous case I purchased, which was about 4 months ago.

I am not going to rate this beer down due to one instance of inconsistency [either on Great Divide's behalf, or more likely due to my palate's memory being off lol] but I will be more wary of Titan from this point forward. Its still a great IPA from an outstanding brewery..one of my faves. Cheers!

Had on tap at boondocks fun center Thornton

On arrival there is a very light haze in a deep gold body dome lacing forms.

Aroma is more of an old school WCIPA, with a touch of dank edd, and an almost toasty malt in the very back. Not as intense as expected. Slight bitter herbal hops that are almost but not quite piney.

Taste follows the aroma with a decent bitterness right up front, that carries an herbal, dank, flavor that fades slightly to a mellow pine resin, and toasted malt. Super clean and crisp.

The feel is super smooth, due to a dryness taming the full malty body. Finish is longer and is very balanced with a slight warming sensation. Very good 7%+ IPA in this category.

Overall this is pretty good. Nothing crazy out of the ordinary, but a solid WC style IPA with a reasonably unique hop profile.

11/20/22 12oz can from Washington Beer store. Chilly Sunday afternoon before the Steelers/Browns game.

Look is a cloudy gold in Leah's glass, but clear in mine? Same can.

Aroma is tropical pineapple and mango. Slight maltiness.

Decent carbonation. Sweet breadiness, bordering on banana bread. Slight sour undertones. Nice mouthfeel. Hop is present through the whole experience.

Not overly powerful. Brewer's notes describe this well.

Poured a slightly hazy light orange amber color with a two finger white head that dissipated slowly leaving heavy lacing. I suspect that the haziness is from being a few months past the can date.

Fruity nose with pineapple and citrus.

Malty flavor balanced with citrus and a piney finish.

Medium body and carbonation.

Overall, an enjoyable AIPA.
