It pours a very thick black with a big, sticky head that's the color of chocolate milk. Not even the edges are highlighted when held up to the lamp. This is DARK with a big head that sticks to everything. This is one damned beautiful beer.

The aroma is full of sweet roasted malt flavors. Chocolate, cappuccino, sweet cream and unsweetened cocoa.

Thick, smooth and chewy. This heavy bodied beer is lusciously smooth. It casually glides across the tongue with flavors of molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, and it's even a bit woody. The flavors are dark, roasted and sweet in the beginning and middle, but it picks up some bitterness towards the end that has a creamy dark chocolate and unsweetened cocoa character. The finish is similar to an incredibly strong, heavily creamed, cappuccino.

Beautiful. Thick. Delicious. Boozy. A great beer!

March 2011 bottle. Opened July 2014.

A - Solid, almost bowling ball black body. Creamy milk chocolate head has great retention and lace.

S - An excellent nose, sweet and chocolately. Malted milk balls, deep milk chocolate, chestnuts, touch of burt coffee.

T - Opens smooth, bold, and round with milk chocolate, dark roast coffee, and thick caramel. The center drops out a little, but features nice roast grain and molasses flavors. Really nice dry roast finish.

M - Smooth with a light, well balanced carbonation. Medium-full body with a great coating on the back end.

O - Really enjoyable, and arguably the best of the entire series.
