12oz bottle with a Bottled On date of March 18, 2010 into a large tulip.
A - Jet black body reveals nothing. Large dark tan head fades slowly leaving a dark sheet of lace.
S - Sweet chocolate, toffee, caramel and a hint of roasted barley. Sweet and clean.
T - Roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, honey on toast base is met with assertive bitterness. Slight burnt aftertaste and alcohol warmth is noticed in the finish. As this begins to warm the solvent bite of booze becomes more prominent.
M - Rich and viscous body with moderate carbonation. Sweetness lingers and the ABV heats up the throat and belly. Creamy malt goodness in a glass.
D - Moderate to low. Big alcohol and malt profile make this a sipper for me. For the style however, this brew is on the higher side of drinkability.
