Poured from a room temperature 22oz bottle into a generic class borrowed from the hotel bar.
An aggressive pour resulted in a huge amount head that slowly dissipated leaving substantial lacing. The color of the head reminds me of chocolate milk. The beer is jet black with no light showing through.
Aroma is very good. My first smell gave me a strong hop aroma with roasted malts and chocolate on the back. Second smell was less hops, more malt and chocolate.
Wow. The taste of this is just awesome. A combination of roasted malts and chocolate with a hop presence and a faint hint of coffee. A bit of alcohol comes through on the finish, but not in an unpleasant way.
Mouthfeel is silky and viscous, and lingers for a while after that first sip.
I'm suffering from a pretty good cold right now, so I know my sense of smell and taste is affected. Even with that being said, this is an awesome beer. I'll be adding it into my normal rotation at home and I can't wait to taste it once this cold is gone.
