Pours a roasty black, thick as tar with no splashing. A tan head forms exceedingly slowly, but continues to grow long after th pour, until it is a monster, and refuses to fade.
Smells of cherries, plums, sourdough. Thick, sweet and inviting.
Taste is of espresso, cherries, plums, and a hint of smoke in the finish. Outstandingly smooth and enjoyable!
Mouthfeel is large, smooth, and silky. The smoke/coffee/hops give it a nice bite at the crest of the tongue, making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Slightly thicker would have been good, but with this ABV, I'm not sure that's possible.
Careful, once you start, you can't stop. It's a good thing I only have this one 22oz bottle, or I'd be in real trouble. The ABV WILL get you eventually, though, so pace yourself.
