12oz bottle, review form notes.

A: Pours a black with a very nice looking brown head on top, very bubbly. Decent retention, lasting a minute or two, before reducing to a thin layer on top.

S: Some dark chocolate, a little coffee, dark fruit, and a little bit of bitterness. There is a little bit of roasted malt that grows as it warms.

T: More on the bitter side than I was expecting, but not in a bad way at all. Dark chocolate, a little roast, some light coffee, and hints of dark fruit.

M: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Drinks pretty smooth. It was a nice sipper over the course of dessert and the rest of the evening.

O: A really well done RIS, not my favorite, but considering its availability very nice. With the last little bit, I put in a scoop of chocolate ice cream, and that was fantastic.

Yeti Imperial stout
Appearance: Very dark with minimal hints of red on the side of the glass. The head is mocha in color with two inches when poured aggressively, the head sticks around for a bit leaving a very nice lacing on the glass.

Aroma: Burnt malt and tons of chocolate.

Mouthfeel: Like other Yetis this beer has a medium body feel to it and coats the mouth well.

Taste: Mostly dark chocolate, there is a small hint of booze still present. The finish is surprisingly different, it finishes with dark fruits like figs, the finish is of tamarind!

Overall: This beer is excellent, right up there with a Stone IRS and Old Rasputin! The best part is that is available in four packs. This would be great to have around for when you want to have a good Imperial Stout beer but do not want to break out a vintage or a whale of a beer.

Another successful foray into the Beers of Fame!!! Poured into a pint glass...dense black color with no light getting through. A big dark tan head...as dark as 10 Fidy with good retention. Plenty of lacing on the glass. A really great looking beer.

Smell is good, not great. Provides an indication of the chocolate and roasted malts coming up...also lets you know that there is both a hops and an alcohol presence as well.

Taste is really good. Chocolate and roasted malts predominate. Some coffee, earthy hops in there as well. Very good taste, a nice blend of flavors, most importantly not too sweet!!!!

Mouthfeel is rich, the alcohol level is ok but cuts the richness. Hops provide a little bite and keep the beer from being cloying.

This is a really good RIS. A pity that Great Divide will no longer distribute in Tidewater VA.

Appearance is thick and black with a thin mocha head. Smell is lovely, chocolate and burnt sugar. There is some chocolate in the taste, but the taste is mostly coffee. While i can detect the alcohol its not overpowering. Mouthfeel is substantial. The carbonation is present but not overpowering.

Overall an enjoyable beer. As it warms, more varied flavors are starting to come through, as is the alcohol. This is definitely something i'd get again if i see it locally.

A- Thin mocha head on a dark brown/black beer. Low head retnetion, spotty lacing.

S- Whiffs of sweet chocolate.

T- Deep chocolate notes with some coffee thrown in. Booziness suggest near 10%abv.

M- One the thicker side for a mouthfeel. Medium carbonation.

D-O- Perhaps the best widely-available imperial stout, at least around these parts. Has everything you'd look for...chocolate, coffee, roastiness. Thanks coylefoto.

A: Very dark brown..pretty much an opaque black. Aggressive pour yields three fingers of mocha colored head. Head has lots of texture..fluffy with loads of large bubbles. It leaves behind a ton of caked on lacing and a thick film around the edge of the glass.

S: Has everything you'd expect from an RIS. Seems to have both sweet and bitter chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar/molasses, hints of dark fruit.

T: Just like the nose, there's a lot of chocolate here. Followed up by coffee, roasted malts, molasses, prunes maybe. Finishes with just a hint of hop bitterness. Gets a .5 bump for no alcohol presence at all.

M: Full, rich and creamy.

O: Yeti is a really well made beer that pleases all senses. It's well balanced with no flavor dominating another and again, no alcohol presence. Wonderfully drinkable.
