Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled on July 18, 2011.
This pours a copperish color with a hint of red, an off white head with a hint of pint, large foamy head with good lacing. The smell is less of raspberry and more of caramel malts and hops (there is a hint of raspberry). Feel is light to medium light bodied. The taste is very different from what I expected, this is more of a pale ale with raspberry hints than the tart raspberry ale I tried from Samuel Smith earlier (which was much better). I get a nice malty / caramel taste, some hop bitterness and a hint of raspberry and fruity sweetness, the raspberry is far from the dominate flavor (and there isn't any major tartness). Overall this is far less fruity than expected but a pretty good beer, I think anyone wanting a raspberry fruit beer would be disappointed though (this is a decent ale though).
