Pours a ruby red color that reminds me of the cranberry juice in my fridge just a bit with a light, bone-white head that forms on top quickly to about 1 finger thickness, but quickly dissipates to a slight edge layer.
Fruit quickly hits my nose. Definitely rasberry! A slight earthiness is also there, but this one is mostly fruit juice on the nose. Leaves nothing to be desired.
Sipping reveals a less powerful fruity rasberry flavor than expected judging by the nose. Much better balance on the palate. The rasberry is defitely there, but is less tart than expected while a earthy dry hop comes through just the slightest bit to help balance out the sweetness. The swallow sustains the flavor nicely.
Great feel on this one. Crisp, clean feeling with just a bit of drying on the finish. Great balance!
I was expecting a much sweeter, more tart brew, and I got a very very drinkable fruit beer that would be fantastic on a spring evening after cutting the grass or even in the fall.
