Poured into a pint glass.
3.0 A: Translucent orange/red in color. Big head upon pour that falls quickly. Lots of lacing left over. Presence of sediment and "floaties" really take away from what would otherwise be a very sexy beer. Floaties are rather large.
4.5 S: Very hoppy and citrusy. Pine and resin to boot (all those alpha acids, big turn on). Malt character lends a supportive role, balancing out the hops.
4.5 T: Most apparent tastes are citrus and oak (which isn't present in the smell, pretty weird). The malt character is much more pronouced than I would have expected. In fact, I'd say the malts put up a good fight with the hops and balance the beer nicely. Burnt sugar and biscuity.
4.0 M: Nothing wrong with the MF, but I would prefer it to be a little more creamier.
4.5 D: Good brew that I wouldn't mind having a second of.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Amazingly found in the bargain bin of a local liquor store for $1.
Clear amber liquid with a substantial off-white head.
Bracing, hop-laden aroma.
The flavor is more subdued than I expected from a DIPA. The hops definitely dominate but there is backbone of malt here that gives it enough sweetness to not be completely insanely bitter. Lingering hop oilyness on the palate. A little bit of copper. A little bit of wheat bread. Mostly piney hops, especially on the finish.
The bottle says it is 10% ABV but I can't tell it.
Very nice full mouthfeel that sticks around.
I would recommend this for any hop-heads. It might make a good counterpoint to serve with a sweet fruit pie.
