22oz bomber, no freshness date. Pours a murky copper color with golden high-lights. Two finger white head is extremely creamy and stiff, stays around forever, eventually forming foamy pockets. Cobwebs of lace coat the inner glass.
The nose is dry, hoppy, slight traces of wood, simiar to bark or dry leaves, malt, and just a hint of lemon zest. The flavor consists of caramel malt, just a twinge of lemon citrus, a little pepper, and plenty of hops--yet they are not overly bitter or harsh.
The mouth is full and complex, very lively, dancing all over palate, oscialliting back and forth bewteen bright and creamy, to bitter and woddy. It's well-balanced and very drinkable. One of the best American IPAs around.
