A - Thin, yet long lasting 1/2 finger white head. Very hazy, looks a lot like apple cider.
S - Citric hops and sweeet malts. Very sweet. Copping a yeasty/alcohol undertone that I'm not totally diggin.
T - A definite hopbomb. Not bad, though. Semi-complex hop profile... I'm thinking my sample MAY be a little old. Malt backbone is very very big, and noticeable. Almost nutty. Starts bitter and piney, finishes bitter and slightly metallic with huge malty sweetness through the last half of the sip.
M - Perfect. Exactly how a DIPA should be. Thick but not syrupy, medium carbonation, slick and oily. Can't get better.
D - If it weren't so big (ABV-wise), and didn't have such a sweet maltiness, I'd rate it a bit higher. It has the chance to get slightly cloying. I can see myself putting down a bomber now and again if it's available, but I don't think I'll be hunting for it.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Amazingly found in the bargain bin of a local liquor store for $1.
Clear amber liquid with a substantial off-white head.
Bracing, hop-laden aroma.
The flavor is more subdued than I expected from a DIPA. The hops definitely dominate but there is backbone of malt here that gives it enough sweetness to not be completely insanely bitter. Lingering hop oilyness on the palate. A little bit of copper. A little bit of wheat bread. Mostly piney hops, especially on the finish.
The bottle says it is 10% ABV but I can't tell it.
Very nice full mouthfeel that sticks around.
I would recommend this for any hop-heads. It might make a good counterpoint to serve with a sweet fruit pie.
