This is the prototypical beer appearance. I mean that in a good (a really good) way. Clear amber with a pillowy white head that sticks around and leaves the glass decorated with everyone's favourite lace this side of your girlfriend's panties.
Nose is almost sweet, with a little yeasty characteristic and a clean green hop profile. Some grass, a decent amount of pine. The sweet draws that to some pineapple as well.
Taste is similar. Less sweet malt, more piney/pineapple-y hops. There's a little astringency towards the end.
Bitter pine sticks around, with a little citrus zest poking its way in as I explore my taste buds.
Smoothe enough to drink.
A solid DIPA, but there are better options available. Certainly worth drinking and judging for yourself, but I'd probably reach for a couple other personal favourites before seeking this one out again.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Amazingly found in the bargain bin of a local liquor store for $1.
Clear amber liquid with a substantial off-white head.
Bracing, hop-laden aroma.
The flavor is more subdued than I expected from a DIPA. The hops definitely dominate but there is backbone of malt here that gives it enough sweetness to not be completely insanely bitter. Lingering hop oilyness on the palate. A little bit of copper. A little bit of wheat bread. Mostly piney hops, especially on the finish.
The bottle says it is 10% ABV but I can't tell it.
Very nice full mouthfeel that sticks around.
I would recommend this for any hop-heads. It might make a good counterpoint to serve with a sweet fruit pie.
