Near-black color with a decent-sized, dark tan/brown/slightly red colored head. Shows a fair bit of carbonation for a RIS.
Smell is sweet with some roasted, fruity notes. You can definitely pick out the vanilla tones from the oak aging.
Taste is sweet, vanilla, some roasted malt and a slightly hoppy bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is medium-thick but smooth and with nice carbonation.
Overall a very nice RIS that is mellowed and smoothed by the oak aging, and almost in a class with the Stone RIS and Dark Lord in my opinion.
