Split a 22oz bomber with BA Joshrocks86 at Rich O's Public House in New Albany.
A: Huge, dark mahogany pour; deep khaki-colored head settles to a thin layer of foamy lace on the surface of this huge stout. Looks opaque and imposing.
S: Nose seems kind of tame compared to its Espresso Oak Aged brethren. There is definitely a dominant oak presence here that adds earthy, woody notes on top of a superb RIS. There are also smooth vanilla touches to the nose as well as the expected roast coffee and dark chocolate notes. Also getting a hint of citrus hops in the background - what you would expect from Great Divide. Aromas are wonderful.
T: Like the nose, there is a woody, earthy, charred oak flavor that dominates up front along with smooth, cool, creamy vanilla bean flavors. Then comes a blast of mild coffee and a hint of milk chocolate that adds a sugary touch. The sweetness is balanced by a measure of hop bitterness - not overpowering but with enough citrus tinge to add a sharpness to counter the lingering vanilla, chocolate and lactose notes. Finish brings back some black coffee, chocolate and a sweet malt backbone that blends molasses, dark fruits and a toasty bread flavor that lingers and fades until you take the next sip.
M: Very smooth; low carbonation creates quite the rich, creamy sensation on the palate.
D: Like the Espresso variety, this Yeti is definitely a sipper but such a treat to experience. 9.5% ABV but the alcohol lurks under the surface and never really gets overly hot. Smooth, delicious and likely dangerous because of how easy-drinking this big stout really is.
Two down, two to go on the current Yeti offerings. Must say that I probably enjoyed this one a bit more than the Espresso OAY, but it definitely lives up to the Yeti name.

Look- opaque black, thick poor, thin dark tan head
Smell- hints of milk chocolate almost reminiscent of pudding, oak, coffee, molasses, nutty plum. Some cooked cabbage as well, unfortunately.
Taste- charred oak, bittersweet chocolate, earthy hops, semi-sweet malt in the middle followed by bitter dry finish with notes of cabbage. Alcohol is well hidden.
Feel- medium full, slightly sticky, medium carbonation
Overall- Despite the obvious infection, the aroma and appearance were quite inviting. Flavor was disappointing to me and I'm sure the infection played a role but I'm just not fond of the balance of roasted malt in Yeti.
