On draft at Lillie's Q.
A - rich, chocolaty brown. I'd say light black if that were on the color wheel. Creamy mocha head with light lacing, mediocre retention.
S - You pick up the oak immediately, followed by biscuity malt and cocoa. Grassy hops are more prominent than I want them to be for this style.
T - chocolate and hoppy. At 75 IBU you pick up the piney hop bitterness more than the toffee and caramel sugars that follow.
M - thick but not too viscous and moderately carbonated.
O - this is a good but not great beer. At this price point, I can find better imperial stouts with more developed flavors which aren't being washed out by too much hop bitterness.
Serving type: on-tap
