650 ml bottle shared with Bananaman.
Pours a dark black color with a thick, brown head. Looks really nice in the glass imo, you definitely want to taste it!
Smell is vanilla, oak, hops (citrus), fudge, toffee and dark chocolate. Very nice smell, so for no wrong.
Taste is of hard roasted malt, coffee, almost tar, lots of citrus hops, with a BIG, and I mean, BIG bitterness. Lots of burnt notes aswell. I would say this is a bit too bitter and hoppy for my taste.
Mouthfeel is quite good though, it's very filling with a big body, almost sticky, but I must say it's a bit "harsh" also. Not that drinkable...
Well... I don't think the hard roasted malts is working with the big bitterness in the taste as well as you can hope for. I thought this one would be a bit more "rounded" and mellow due to the oak aging process. Still a good imperial stout, though it doesn't live up to the "hype".
