I go to the Great Divide tasting room every so often and this is the beer (or any of its Yet cousins) that I lean on. In fact, the Yeti family holds me back from trying other G.D. offerings more because the Yetis are so realiable.
A: Pours black with a finger-plus of creamy dark-mocha head. One of the darker heads I know of. Decent retention and good lacing.
S: Mostly espresso with some cocoa beans too.
T: Bitter dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Quite a bit of warming alcohol in the end which typically turns me off, but here it works because the coffee/chocolate remain. Not much in the way of oak/vanilla. Maybe if you age it more you'll get more of that, which would be nice.
MF: Full bodied, and rather viscous. Minimal carbonation. Dry and semi-bitter finish.
O: Solid. Consistent. I order it frequently and know that it will deliver. One 10-oz. pour into snifter is just the right amount for me.
Serving type: on-tap
